If youre planning on keeping it FWD talk to CrazyCruz.
He made one work.
Lots of work.
Some guys are converting them to RWD.

Once again, 440s point of view is similar to mine. You have some good ideas, opinions and points that I wish some would take into account. Ive been saying it for years around here and it seems others are too. A promoter who will truly sit down, think and take some time writing their rules. A true effort to accommodate every car and every budget, be it several different build style classes or sections wrote out for each style of car. Promoters always say "We cant make rules perfect for every car" well I think its your responsibility as a promoter to do just that. You have to look at it another way too. Some promoters write rules that basically eliminate certain makes of cars by not allowing a certain build aspect, just because they are too lazy or do not have enough knowledge to properly inspect a car. Their is a happy medium that needs to be found.

wanting to know about a 2 door 1977 buick regal is it worth a darn for a bone stock show They are a good car, but if it's a 77, thats the last year of the 70's "midsize" platform. Look here for the correct tips... www.we-crash.proboards.com/thread/14473

^^ Right, I just didn't include them because they were only made 2 years (80&81) and I would never derby one due to the rarity. They are worth more to collectors.

Town car is longer...vic and grand Marquis are interchangeable Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards INCORRECT... THE LINCOLNS ARE LONGER IN FRONT OF THE CORE SUPPORT. OTHERWISE THEY ARE IDENTICAL... 80+ Town Cars are 3" longer than Grand Marquis and Crown Vics in the middle. Lincolns are 117.3" WB, Mercs and Fords are 114.3 Edit: Just to add one more bit of info, the 80-83 Lincoln Mark VI's will fit Merc/Vic frames. They are shorter in the middle than their 4 door versions.

I got a rust free 72 Lincoln. I built a good leaf pack and 8 3/4 rear. Took the I beam shocks off and plated the frame. Welded a mid 70's gm bumper and brakets on welded a arms down solid. Everything looks good don't see why these cars are junk. Guess will find out come spring. I don't think they started using the I beam shock deals until 73-74?

Found a 57 Chevy wagon in the junkyard that I could possibly get for $500-600. Not restorable condition as the whole car is surface rust. Worth getting to run? I'm thinking of trying it for a stock class car. Weld good bumpers on and go. Mainly for the crowd and the cool factor. Haven't looked at it hard yet. Cool car?.... Oh yeah. Good car?.... Oh no. Check out the pics of a 57 wagon. 1st page, about 3/4 of the way down. www.we-crash.proboards.com/thread/14178

They didn't just come on the SS trucks, they were on regular 1/2 ton 2wds also.
Pick and pull yards and things like that, but you can always look in the parts section. Guys always have em for sale.

I think you might be confused on the size though, the "18" you have listed doesn't make any sense. Maybe 85?

I wouldn't run any 16's on a car, let alone that big. Too much of a target.
I would pass.
Maybe if you have a derby truck?

74-76 Monte bumpers are really hard seam welded. Friend has one with several runs on it and still straight and not showing signs of bending. Leave the 77s only. Id rate the Monte bumpers with the 74 impala but a lil better. 74-75 Montes are the same. 76-77 are the same.
