I have a 75 Malibu, what is the spline count and diameter of my steering input on my gear box? I am away from the house a few days but wanted to order some parts.
Thanks

Will the 80s caddy or wagon steering boxes work on a 73 impala?

Yes but the steering shaft splines are smaller and pitman arm is different but are interchangeable.

What all sterling boxes will fit a 73 impala. 80s gm? 70s malibus? 70s grand prixs? Etc

Most of the boxes are the same. It's typically the size of the steering shaft and pitman arm that is different in my experience. Most pitman arms will swap from one gm box to the next. I am not an expert on GM boxes by any means. But I have mixed and matched plenty different combinations.

Let me know if I am wrong. I'm sure there are some exceptions.

I've heard about guys running the manual S10 box on vics, to eliminate the use of power steering. But are they any stronger than the Vic boxes? I normally just loop the lines on a Vic box and roll,, never broke one... but I'm sure I just haven't taken the right hit yet. I'm going to bash this year, so I want the better of the two boxes on my car, if I can. Figured I'd ask here, since I'm inquiring about a GM S10 box. Haven't seen much on this subject in the Vic area.

Anyone ever use the twist in spring spacers and wire them in so they stay? Thought maybe id try them to gain an inch or two in my 72 buick for a stock show with bumpers welded on.

They worked good if you cut them into three or four pieces. I don't use them now because I just kick the springs (after I saw a utube on how to do that).

make sure to cut the rubber stops off the A arm. I just put pieces of 1" redi rod between the springs and weld it in to gain a couple inches.

Anyone know if i can use a brake booster off a 67 impala or off an 80s GM to replace one on a 72 buick?

Why would you replace a booster? Most people throw them in the trash because they are always in the way.
