Dimple, double dimple, window cut, pie cut, notch, and prebend are all ways to help convince the rear bumper that you prefer it not to lay on the ground.

Heat it and bend it. I usually heat and bend mine before I even run the car.

Ive seen many olds clips ran without metal fender liners. I have even seen them put on old caddys. Personally I have never ran them simply because they dont have metal fender liners. If I were to run them Id grab a set of old caddy, metric GM, or whatever liners and cut/fold/bolt/weld as needed to make them fit. I have no actual experience to offer because I have not ran an olds clip yet on anything.

Second most ignorant statement on we crash this year, and I'm only counting the few I have bothered to read. What's the most ignorant? Piston squirters?

Its really hard to detect a cold tilt performed properly especially if performed on a frame machine. Like previously stated how the fenders are mounted, core support spacer, and body spacers are the only clue.

BTW it's not personal. Its a debate. Opinions will always vary greatly. I ran a circle track car for a while with my same engine. We had to add a washer to raise the operating temperature. It ran too cool unrestricted. Therefore I don't add any restrictions. Its all personal preference. Feel free to experiment with washers and rely on your data instead of hearsay. Your engine might run cooler with added reatrictions. Mine doesn't. There are allot of variables that determine cooling efficiency like radiator size/design, pump size/gpm, fan, shroud, timing, cam, jet size/carburetor, etc. No two setups are the exact same. Therefore there is not simply one correct answer to what works best for your application.
