Gropp Automotive Specialties is proud to announce we are expanding to better serve our customers. G.A.S. will be pairing with Kipp’s Auto Service in Chicago, IL to offer two locations for sales and product service.
Steve Kipp has been a customer of G.A.S. and has been around our products for years. In emergency situations he has assisted customers at shows. With our growing customer base and the need to provide additional customer support, we have decided to add Kipp’s Auto Service as a sales and service center.
Kipp’s DOES NOT build any of our fresh products. All new products will be built by me at our Lincoln, NE location. Kipp’s is trained on the foundation of our successful product line, common repairs to our entire product line, and will stock engines, carburetor and distributor combinations, distributor protectors, steering columns, and any accessory items for those products. Kipp’s will be able to rebuild your carburetors, trouble-shoot installation errors, and provide you with technical support. We anticipate Kipp’s stocking approximately five engines as they are available in our Lincoln location.
Repairs and service will be billed at their local shop rates. More involved repairs will be approved by me to be carried out at their location and I will ship the parts from my shop to Chicago. This will ensure part consistency and will not involve variations in machine work.
It is our intention to have Kipp’s stocked and ready for sales and repair as of December 15, 2012. Should you want to send in your carbs to be freshened ahead of that date, please label them clearly, and go ahead and mail them to the shop.
I will post contact information and mailing address for both locations in the morning.
I would like to thank everyone for their patronage and wish you a successful 2013.

Maybe you shouldn't label his shop as a GAS shop if he doesn't build motors. I'm not a hater by any means but if he's just an accessory shop label it that way. I know there's plenty of people that need the help, and that's cool. Just labor it appropriately.

Really? The heading isn't big enough to put every detail in. It says location, not building facility, testing facility, or anything else. If the thread title line would have allowed me to say G.A.S. opens second location for parts and service only, not building our product, I would have tried to put it in there. But we are opening a second sales and service location at Kipp's Auto Service. So I put as much of that in as it would allow. to offer two locations for sales and product service. add Kipp’s Auto Service as a sales and service center. Kipp’s DOES NOT build any of our fresh products. All new products will be built by me at our Lincoln, NE location. Repairs and service will be billed at their local shop rates. It is our intention to have Kipp’s stocked and ready for sales and repair as of December 15, 2012. I'll try to edit it down to only the most important words to show that he is not building my parts. He is a sales and service location. Note the use of the words sales and service (aka repair). Note the very large letters saying he doesn't build our products. Note the fact that their shop is called Kipp's Auto Service and not Gropp Automotive Specialties, Chicago, IL. Not sure how to make it more clear that we are opening a sales and service location at Kipp's Auto Service. Not a full blown shop. G.A.S. parts sales and service at a second location. That location is at Kipp's Auto Service in Chicago, IL. So you can purchase G.A.S. parts and have them serviced in two locations. Kipp's Auto Service, a separate entity from Gropp Automotive Specialties, or at Gropp Automotive Specialties. Sales and service available at either place. Or both places. Two places. Second place to buy G.A.S. parts and have them serviced other than my location. G.A.S. has parts and service at two locations. Hope I made it clear that G.A.S. parts and service will be available at two locations, and that Kipp's is not a facility that will build our products. Then again, I thought it already was.

Tried to edit and add more to the heading to clear it up, but can't fit it all in there. Hope people can read the announcement.

Billy and Bugs (the Kipps) don't cut corners on anything. Great guys to handle your needs. I've been a customer of theirs and have been getting "schooled" by Bugs for years. Going to be a top notch partnership.

Steve and I have decided that no matter how much we want to help you, Tank, we can't. There is no help for you. But, I'll be in Chicago from December 5-9, so if you want to set something up and the weather is decent, let me know. We'll try.

Thanks Scott. I'll see if I can get it in a car by then. Worst case scenario, I can at lease show you where to eat!

Sounds good. You'll just have to wait for us to perform the human sacrifice to bless the location and prepare the urn of magic engine dust that is sprinkled over every part that is sold.
Unless, of course, you want to play a role in the ritual...

I'm confused....Kipp's auto service has moved to Nebraska and now G.A.S. is located in Chicago? That doesn't make any sense....oh wait, I read it again and now I understand. Geez Scott, why couldn't you make it any clearer in previous posts? Must be another wecrash conspiracy...subject lines should be allowed to have 10,000 characters to avoid any confusion.
Seriously though...sounds like a good move to me. Takes some stuff off of your plate, gives customers an extra option, should work well.

illinois might be a better venue, seeing how indiana trumped anything coming out of nebraska ever Please state what you are comparing my product to, and do back up with facts. Any builders whose engines have gone home with more wins, and more big show wins, than G.A.S. I'll patiently wait for your reply.

illinois might be a better venue, seeing how indiana trumped anything coming out of nebraska ever Haha I've seen motors at our local shows that have come from Indiana and they get hot a lot faster than anything coming out of Nebraska. I've never met Scott we've had disagreements on here before. But I will tell anyone this he builds the best motors for this sport...period. Scott congrats on the new location and expanding your availability to customers.
