Not unless a metal core support from another ford looks "stock" and can fit it in place. 8" channel iron is stock ain't it ?

^^ Pretty sure that's a returnless system. Yep, my buddy's '00 ZX2's zetec was returnless.

Should I run a fan on my focus wagon ? It's running in a bone stock class no welding, stock bumper, stock everything, moving gas tank and battery are optional (but I'm doing both). Figured it could save me some room.

yes I would run a fan, if your rad gets destroyed its the only thing cooling your engine. but I would re rout the fan wiring right to the battery with a fuse in the line so when it gets too hot itll pop the fuse and not start a fire.

I pulled the fan relay and used a jumper wire to a no longer needed fuse in the fusebox under the hood. The fan ran whenever the key was on and only requires three inches of wire to accomplish.

Got this wagon ready to rumble. Starting as an enduro car will finish as a derby car. I have the same exact car. Let me know how it does. And does anyone know if 2001 wagons have limp mode ? Cause I cannot find any sort of wire near or to the thermostat thanks

I know on the double overhead cam ZTEC, the engine temperature coolant sensor is on the back of the head under the alternator. I haven't hot wired mine yet most people said the alternator has to be removed to get to it but I think if you take the passenger side wheel off you should be able to get it from underneath.

I will for sure find it and remove it. if I just cut the wires to the sensor will it disable the limp mode or do I have to remove it all together and plug the hole? any input? as of right now ill just cut the wires and see what happens its getting derbied this Saturday July 16.

Front frame rails after you cut off the factory welded bumper Applied 2.5" tube into frame as bumper shocks 9" in and mounted a used Oldsmobile 88 bumper Thru out my old marine tank cause I fried the fuel pump went to a more civilized system First attempt at headers on a focus (they look unfinished because in this picture they are) I've since finished welding them and they look mean

Leave sensor in and cut the wires off. Then go to radio shack or some type of electronic store and get a 330ohm resistor and wire that in. this will make the ecu think the car is always running at operating temp. I have heard it runs a little rough when you first start it but by the time you get it off the trailer it will clear up.

Most temp sensors cut or unplugged causes the motor to fault to rich mode. They typically don't rin too well like that.
