maybe these 2L or 2.3L ford engines just like the heat a lot. I ran my focus In a derby the plastic rad hose split right off the bat, and lost all the water it was screaming hot for about 10 mins of hard working and it ran great the hole time, stalled out once. started right back up no trouble. the next day after derby it started right up first try and ran great.

i don't think i could cut a hole in my fuel cell I run a in line fuel pump from a Volvo that puts out 100 psi and the focus I had never flooded from that much psi. I also did not run a return line, there is a vapor line tho.

That's weird cause mine just builds up a ton of pressure and gets really quite. I started it and was still was to quite shut it off in ran for 30 seconds without the fuel pump, then turned it on and backfired out of the throttle body smoked for about an hour. I've already cause 2 leaks and blew the fuel filter (my fault tho) so I'm not sure if there's something I'm not doing to control that

speaking of leaks I blew 1 fuel hose twice with that pump at first I thought too much pressure but then I changed the fuel hose to a brand new fuel hose and have not split a line since. are you running new lines from your tank to the fuel rail or did you just tap into the fuel lines under the car? I just tapped into the fuel lines under the car.

To make a long post short, the cut wires on the engine coolant temp sensor does not affect the way the car runs, 2inches of water on the sparkplugs does. I completely disagree completely. That is not the same as a hard run during a derby. Well I was wrong, ran the car today all over the field, going up and down hills for a half hour and it was cutting out really bad after the car was getting hot and I barely made it back to the barn. I went to radio shack to buy a 150ohm resister and a 220 ohm resistor. The 220ohm was too hot so wired in the 150ohm 1/8watt resistor so to make sure I ran it all over the property out the road for close to a hour never had problems. Now I'm not running a fan so it was pretty hot but like you said stromi, its not a hard run derby condition but I like to think I ran it hard enough that it shouldn't have problems when I lose all my water.

Throttle response for you is good ? Like once you tap the gas automatic rev not a slow build up. Cause mine builds slowly when I mash the hand throttle

It's pukes a little bit when your stopped and you punch it but once you get moving it clears up

my focus idles terribly, but seems to never stall as soon as you give it gas it revs right up. no hesitations

Ran my wagon also.....2003 pzev.Stock class, but we run straight stock.car DIDNT like a half dead battery.it quit in the heat.fresh car for consi.got some good shots in and got cleared in the front by a Taurus wagon.broke a large hole in plastic intake and blew starter relay .third in consi,no feature.patched the intake with tiger hair, relay from the rear controls, and raised the suspension.pulled the back out and ran again the next derby.two back to back rear door shots broke my boat tank, and HARD tire shot broke a tie rod end.fixed the leak, chained the tie rod back together and made it to consi again.got some good hits in,and ramped on a car and pulled a CV.....rear is the business end. Front bumper is decent for stock.tie rods are weak.spindles are strong.also, don't death grip the steering wheel.
