I think I was 10 out of 18, the front driver side strut got bent again and the lower control arm was ripped away from the frame. the motor ran fine and transmission held up but just couldn't move.

I needed to drive better. Every time I turned around someone was getting a good wheel shot on me. now as far as the car I don't think there was really much I could to the struts because rules call for stock suspension. I should have spent the time at my dads shop to straighten up the frame rails and bend them up. ive been doing this for 10 years and I learn something new every time I run a car. I paid $200 for the car, if I found another good deal I would run one again.

My uncle ran my ford focus that I built for him and he didn't do to bad for a first time driver and builder. Ended up getting 6th out of 25 cars. The Car was junked both sides of the frame kicked over was rubbing against the motor, what took us out was the shifter broke on the motor and in the car, for pushed into the wall and was stuck in drive. Had some pretty good luck k with building it had to do a super redneck radiator repair, before the derby we were pouring water in and it was just pouring out of the tube running across the front of the car in front of the exhaust, so we rapped it in duck tape and a ton of tin foil and it never esteemed the whole derby, How Idk. Front bumper was springing strong never fell off even after frames kicked over. And I didn't like how my fuel pump was building up pressure so I took the pressure release valve on the end of the fuel rail and I took out the pin and fuel flowed right through it doing this I changed the car to a return system worked perfectly. I ran a donut tire on the front (control arm was bent from previous run) and surprisingly the tire never popped and it got a ton of grip so etching to try again in the future ?? Maybe. Overall fun first car already have car #2 and thinking about running youth in Ohio. Thanks for the tips and pointers on this topic.

the ztec is easy to work on too, easy to put stacks on. the 2.3L motor that are in some focus's zx4 I think, those motors have HP and are very peppy. my daily driver is the 2.3L focus and only 4cyl automatic I can squeal the tires with on pavement, not wet.

Yeah when we first loaded the car we didn't have proper ramps for the trailer so we just mashed the skinny pedal and burned some rubber, might have hurt the trailer but oh well. There's also a lot of these cars on the market, they gotta catch on soon.

I've been looking for one local around here, but still too new or everyone keeps them until they blow. Too good on gas to get rid of I guess.

here in Canada the rockers rust out on them fast (if not taken care of) so there is dozens of them for sale,

Same around here, but the front and rear subframes rot out too. Failed many for inspection because the rack was ready to rip out or the control arms were ready to fall off. I was actually going to pick one up down the street, but when I looked at it the rear section of the front subframe was attached to nothing. Worse one I've ever seen. I love the zetec's, those thing's just scream. The 2.3/2.0 duratec is great too. Do the 2.3's have the plastic intake on the front like the newer 2.0's do? I believe so but I forget. I don't care much for the old 2.0 SplitPort, never been a fan of those.
