Here's pic of 91 w/Elliots headers b-4 wrap. Ty rap wires good. We change rad to a 88-93 mustang copper n brass and use a jegs twister 16" fan w/2" spacer.,it stays cool--our heats run 18/20 min.

That is a nice clean install, looks great. Did you move most of the harness ad computer into the car? or is it tied up on the driver's side and rear of the motor? do you recall how much you paid for the headers?
thanks

The harness is pretty much bundled and on upper rt.side. computer ,solenoid are thru blower hole and mounted inside on firewall. call Jeremy----- @1-320-599-4607 I'm pretty sure I paid $138.00 shipped to the house.

I'm on my third multi-port 5.0L and I personally love them, they never stall. I've run both Modified and bone stock. For the modified car I stripped the wiring harness down to a bare bones engine harness, ran it through the firewall then secured the ECM inside. This takes a good bit of time and effort but once your done you can just pull the drivetrain and harness and plop it in another car.
For the bone stock car I'm not allowed to move anything from the stock location. On top of a few top secret modifications I've never seen a fuel injected 5.0L not do well. As long as you fill up the cooling system and burp it properly...I'm guilty of not doing so and cost myself a win because the car got hot and wouldn't start.

Hi windshielddriver
Thanks for the info on the 5.0. Do you have a picture of the modified car you did? we are aloud to moves things for our stock show, so I will strip it to a basic harness. Just looking for input as to how your stuff was routed. This site has been good with people putting up photos, etc.
Taking all the info from everyone here, and will get mine set up and hopefully do good.
Thanks

I'll put up some pictures when I get home from work this evening. For the most part I just ran everything underneath the plenum and shielded it with large diameter wire loom.

Ah, ok, hence your name "windshielddriver"..... cool. Looks good. Did you have any trouble with plug wires burning up? I always fireproof tape them anyway, but just curious...
Thanks, I am actually looking forward to getting this thing going.... Derby is on the 12th....

The headers are heat wrapped on the driver side and I had planned to do the passenger side but never got around to it. The wires are also 8mm Taylor so they aren't cheapos.

Perfect, that was my intention as well. I have always wrapped the wires, but this year I was going to give wrapping the headers a try to see.
I think you were the one who replied to my ad looking for used headers for the 5.0...... any luck?

We ran stock 88-93 mustang headers for first 2 years ,usally you can get em pretty cheap on c-list. Put em on backwards so ball flange is forward and weld some 3"pipe on up thru hood. Also cut the top off alum can and it fits over pwr steer pump keeps top shut and oil from getting on headers just in case.
