I was mostly looking for a 2nd set because I'll be putting the new set on my wire class figure 8 car that will have all of my best parts and best motor and then I was gonna throw the set I have now on my derby cars for the year that will get my secondary set up.

How much of a different sound do you get between 1 1/2 inch headers and 1 3/4 inch headers? Looking at buying a set of 4 into 1's and wanting to know the difference and do you guys notice a difference in sound with different collector heights? I'll be ordering from elliot motorsports and I see I have the options between a few different heights, how tall should I order them? I was thinking the shortest that is 28 but should I get a taller set? Thanks

These special ordered extra tall (44") even top turn-outs (w/donkey ears) from DEC Headers are the loudest screaming headers I have ever heard in my lifetime!

I wanna say 42" tall... Louder than loud! For a bbm... I'm not a fan of 4 in a row turnouts but on a bbm they sound sick... Anyone going to metal mayhem this year will get a taste of what they sound like!

I have a set from Elliot motorsports the 1 3/4,they sound good. Be sure and get the forward dump ones if you do, when the front end goes up, they wont hit anything.

No need for forward dump if you pull and eliminate the brake booster, then you have tons of extra room.

Does anyone know if a 2.3 header will match up with a 2.0 head? Thanks in advance

Question about adding a chrome collector on to a pair of DEC 4 square headers. How far above the bend (where they come together) do I mount the adaptor plate to connect my chrome collector?

Anyone know if there is a difference in brands of headers? Noticed that schoenfeld headers seem to cost a little more.

The more costly headers are mandrel bent meaning the ID of the pipe is the same even threw the bends. I run the schoenfeld 1 5/8 they flow good but they rust pretty fast if you don't paint them every few runs. They are also thinner material then a DEC or equivalent aluminized header.

YOU CAN PICKLE THE STEEL WITH TRANS FLUID AND THEY WONT RUST. HEAT THE HEADERS WITH A TORCH AND QUENCH THEM WITH A RAG SOAKED IN ATF.. THERE WILL BE A TON OF SMOKE.... AND FLAME...... BUT THE END RESULT IS WORTH IT...

I'm going to try that. Maybe that will help with the rust rain in spring.
