I've seen in id advanced auto. My question is how effective would it be? Best thing I see for it is so i don't burn my arm when I gotta modify something on the engine.

It is suppose to keep the exhaust heat out of the engine bay. IDK how effective it is.

Its suppose to "help" keep the heat out of your engine bay but the biggest reason it was designed for is to insulate the exhaust to keep temps higher so the exhaust moves faster.

I wrapped mine and wouldnt have a pair without it. should of overlapped mine more but still works great. Keeps from burning my arms and cuts down on a lot of the under hood heat. Being wrapped when the car bends if something should come in contact with the header it doesn't melt or burn as fast because the wrap. With my car running and hot I can touch my headers and not get burnt. Can hold my hand on them for a few seconds Attachments:

Got mine at summit as a kit made to wrap a set of headers with everything I needed to do it. Had a little wrap left over

I was considering getting some this year.Is there a certain technique to wrapping on the under side of the collector when it comes together or do you cut it when you get to that point?
