They're really strong and bolt on w bodies so they're very popular in the compact world. I run them and haven't had one bend yet.

I just got some of the buick rims, do they need centers or lip guards?
Just trying to get dome longevity out of them and see where they need help.
I run chain and go but can use whatever for tires/rims.
I want to stay light but not worry about the rim bending too bad.

My narrowed buick wheels got bent so bad it was locked onto the caliper bracket, I would only run with a full center now

Looking for a good choice in steer tire rims for stock rides(metric fords). More than likely I'll have 5.50-15s and a backup set of 7.00-15s for tires. I want to stay away from buying narrowed rims unless i come across some with a good price, but what are some of the more narrow rims out there that aren't super soft?

Most use tracker rims if you don’t want to narrow or have someone narrow them

I'd get a spare tire rim from older fullsize put a center an lip reinforcement on it for a skinner rim. But I run the 7 spoke ranger rims for my 7.00 15 steer tires. Thought of putting 5.50 on a set.

Came across a good deal on some trackers with centers already in them. Had a question about centers.
If the lug holes aren't beveled, is it more likely to break studs?

I was under the impression the bevel is to prevent lug nuts from loosening. I have never had an issue with studs breaking without it there.

We bevel ours to ensure the wheel is 100% centered and tight. Flat doesn’t ensure they are either of those things. We had a wheel we put on the front ruin a hub because it loosened up after test driving. The center flexed a little and made it seem like the wheel was tight

The bevel is for centering the studs. If you put a wheel on you will notice the wheel will rock back and forth a little from the studs being slightly smaller. The bevel centers them up by drawing down tight in the holes. Like DerbyKing88s said...flat wont guarantee it being centered one bit...unless the holes are drilled out exactly the same size as the outside dimension of the studs. I would bevel them...jmo tho.

You need to bevel the rim and use a lugnut that is beveled to match. You'll end up with lash and snap the studs. You can get away with it for awhile, but it'll cost you. Do what comes from the factory, there are people that study this stuff and engineer it that way for a reason and get paid to do so. Tighten your lugnuts after every run.

Don't worry about the bevel. 1" lug nuts and put them on backwards....you'll be fine.

I have ran 1" lug nuts backwards on every full center rim ive ever ran with stock studs and aftermarket studs. The only time i have ever had a lug nut come loose was a 1" bevel nut on a stock non centered rim. Have never broke a stud ever have bent a couple. But never broke or had a lug nut come loose. Before i quit i ran my 1" lug nuts then a stud protector plate then another set of lug nuts tightened down just incase

I've been looking for another set of D slots with no luck, so I was wondering what other 14" rims I can run that will fit on a stock 8.8 without rubbing the caliper bracket?
