I had good luck with the chrome ford F150 wheels. axles were bent bad, but rims were still staright. and that was with the stock centers. I have a stock pile of big bolt chrome buick rallies but havent tried them yet

I know everyone wants the strongest wheel. But, what good is a strong wheel if you get a bent or broken axle?
I would rather have my wheel bend a little and save my rear end.
Homer
Get it, save my rear end. ;D

That is a good point homer. Its mainly to keep the tire on the bead. For better manouver ability. And height if you was to get a flat. I'm getting some geo tracker rims and welding centers in.

If you dont care about breaking stuff, Not much beats a double skinned stock wheel. You do need the right type of wheel to do this however. Forklift wheels are next in my line up ( weld in center ), And then the early gm ralleys. IMO
