It was shortened 6 inches, plated 12 inches from front bumper (which was pretty much to the a arms), and plated at the firewall and it still still buckled right behind he crush box under my down bars. Marshmallow...

The only fords I have luck with are the 80s but maybe thats just me id rather have one of them than any of the newer fords but thats just me

Makes sense. Around here we would have had to re stub it aarms forward or youd have had to turn it into what we call a mod around here to run it if you shortened it the way you needed. I'm still surprised at how that bent like that I've never seen one bend down like the way yours did lol

I'm not sure what is up with the early 90s vics, but every one of them I've seen run/buil bend weird or the rear rails flatten out bad
97s don't do it, unsure when the frames changed otherwise

I have been told 97s are the year to look for. 97s have the big frame like 98-02up front and a few other things. I've built a 93 or 4 and a 97, and helped build another 94ish. Both of the early ones the rails flattened out in the back at the bottom of the humps and 1 did near the body mount as well. The 97 stayed mostly boxed and bent "normally". I've also seen a bunch of them run and most of the early 90s vics flatten, but the lincolns don't nearly as much. Not sure if it was a thinner frame from different plants type of thing or what
