Do they bend there still when they aren't tilted? Not sure on that but with the way this car seems to be bending up front on you I don't think it'd hurt lol

Weird I've seen kicker cars bend like that before the big a arm forward/"bumper bracket" plates were a thing. Its from the top of your bumper hitting the bottom of their bumper and forcing the leverage point to the top of the bumper instead of centered.
That little bit of leverage does some weird stuff. I've seen bash cars bend really weird from mismatched bumper heights(Doodle vs Logan Duvall? a few years back for instance).

What was your motor mount set up in this car if you don't mind me asking? Trying to get my sbc sitting low like this without a ton of work.

Remove ford mounts set your sbc in with chevy motor.mounts set it in place on one side you'll see where you have to put a 1 inch spacer in to.fill the gap from mount.to.frame tack your lowers pull motor out and weld them solid

I went to Oriely's and bought brand new lower motor mounts for a 1973 Monte Carlo. I bolted them to the engine and just set it in. I didn't put a spacer or anything in. I just welded mine straight to the crossmember with no issues.

Did you bend them to fit the crossmember at all? They look to have fit to the crossmember well and sit pretty low. I've been trying to mount my motors as low in the cars as I can to keep them away from the fire wall and keep them flat as long as possible as the car starts to belly. Just looking at your pictures they seemed to sit lower than the 70s truck lowers I've been using. Thanks.

When I sat the motor in the top 1 to 1.5 inches of the mount sat up higher than the top of the crossmember so once I had a few welds on it I beat the top down and flat yes. Before I did this I welded both sides of the motor mount together so they wouldn't come apart, and then welded that to the frame.

If you dont wanna fold it over thats why I use a 1 inch piece of tubing to fill that gap from mount to cradle

Fun fact: If you are not running a lower cradle, you can use factory box ford motor mounts and beat them apart about 3/4 of an inch from factory and factory Chevy engine mounts will sit right on them.

Years ago before anybody used cradles I bought a set of block mounts that allowed you to set a SBC right on box vic motor mounts with no heating or beating. They were pretty slick. I honestly can't even remember who made them.

I don't have any box ford stuff either, this was my first vic since 2006 or so and I probably won't run one any time soon unless it is dirt cheap. This car was the cleanest I have seen and it was soft as a marshmallow. This last run it nosed up so fast it was rediculous, even with plate where the main frame rail met the crush box. The frame bent bad right behind the crush box. As far as I am concerned these things are junk.

Here is the last run, it was shortened up 6 inches and plated at the firewall and still bent quicker than shit.

So yes you fix one place its going to bend that place next unless fixed. Now that you see where them places are the weak spots you fix and go from there. Trust me that one rail hit you took hurt it but that wide open hit was a no no that was solid hit its gonna bend. Now if that place was fixed it would then move the next weak spot to the spring bucket. When I build mine ill pm some pics. Not saying they have to be cheated to be hard but placing plates in right places and taking and giving shots with both rails will make it last so much longer. Yours did bend fast but look of it you had some other builders out there with god builds.

They keep teaming up on him. I saw them sending hand signals to get him so I came across the track and junked my car on him on purpose.
