It would have been nice to have another good group of NC guys there this year, but the cards didn't fall right for a few. Lots of NC drivers in the stands this past weekend, so at least I had 25 or so people cheering me on anticipating me holding it to the floor. Live stream is great, Did we miss JoJo Davis coming in? He is on the list to drive this heat....oh well here we go....wow ok so yeah JoJo Davis is in here....lmao All in all a great time. I can honestly say though, we are never happy driving for a top 5 finish. We are in it to win it. So if you had the choice would you battle the best at the beginning or the end? That's what makes this win for the Brauns so much more. They had the heat from the beginning. But it just amazes me everytime I see guys wondering when is it my spot on the pecking order. How does my deal hold up with the deals of the other 5 deals....Just a small rant, but all in all a great show and even better action than previous years. I got to open up the 4 barrels and let my big momma sing a few times, so I will definitely not complain about that. The caddy lives to derby another day unfortunately though....

If they want numbers next year, a few things need to happen. either a livestream of the heat draws, or live heat draws during the drivers meeting(I know that having numbers you will get people in the same heat, but when the hinens/brauns are together year after year with 3 people(plus whoever they made deals with)a heat..it gets a little ridiculous). If all of them draw the same heat LIVE, then so be it, thats how the cards fall.
the second thing that needs to happen, is CLEAR RULES and ENFORCED RULES. There was a lot of grey areas, rules left out, or rules that were just ignored like jo said. I have looked at a few cars every year for the last 5-6 years and its crazy how the seam welding just gets looked over on some cars. Also, one car being fine, but another needs cut..just like jo said. its favoritism, and that shoot needs squashed, now.
If you want the cars to come back, get an unbiased head inspector and crew from out of state and keep fatty and Tim out of the inspection building. If one car has to cut something, the next car damn well better cut the same thing. Saw this a lot on the core support tubing and strapping among other things. Its funny that the home boys get away with the little(and some obvious seam welding) things all the time.
Also, you clear a few hundred thousand from this show overall.... please hire a Freaking fire extinguisher crew instead of those sorry ass firefighters. they are terrible year after year, and are going to let someone get burnt up.
Before anyone wants to bitch about what i'm saying, no..i haven't run the bash, but have watched/supported it since it moved to WCH. But i have ran multiple smashit show around Ohio, and its the same deal. the kickbacks are obvious and for someone that has the 3 biggest shows in the country that shoot just shouldn't happen(it has gotten significantly worse/more obvious since fatty has stepped up). rant over.

btw jojo/stromi, if you guys all make a Carolinas drivers shirt next year for the bash I'll be in line to buy one.
would be pretty sweet if you all had a "team" shirt with all of you on it like a lot of others are starting to do.

Completely agree. 80's wire rules on smash it website are have alit of details left out. Talked to couple other drivers and I guess there's 3 set of rules for this class.

Like I said though, if it was spot welding seams it would be one thing, but the damn dash bar and little john/window bar touching and being welded to the firewall and dp is a rule you can't have leniency on. A guy shows up 10 hours from home, do you think he will have the resources or time to re-do his cage at bash? No. Will this make the front of a car completely different....yes. As a driver we want to get away with little things that make a little difference, but we don't want to get away kickers to a DP......take it how you want to but I KNOW both kickers to DP, dash bars touching firewalls, and plated firewalls were in the heats and in the feature. And no before anyone says it, I am not saying this was brauns, cioppas, etc....just know what I know and can see what I can see. It isn't just the TBTC class either...did anyone look at bumper mounting in the frank the tank class? Obvious who has manipulated those rules...compact guys welded for 2 days solid after the heat too...saw one wire car go up on his side a little and had belly bars from crossmember to back of the boxes....I will gladly speak of everything I saw to make sure everyone shows up the same next year. The problem is we show up a year later with what we could spot the previous year, then you make us change it at the derby...exactly like all thread through the core support. I had to completely redo mine when others had theirs secured 10 times better after they got through blowing a heat mark where they should have been cutting. The best thing I heard this weekend was me arguing my sway bar mounting that they made me cut...I said so I use the stock sway bar and stock mounts and use it this way and its not ok, must cut it its not ok. But....you allow hand made sway bars welded to the frame with a factory bushing back over it. I said so I can run a 3 inch cold rolled sway bar as long as it touching attach to the spring pocket....the answer was yes you can as long as the stock mount is present......So again explain to me how one is ok but the other is not....just a little disappointed

As for the inspection crew I think you need to move some guys around. Toby should be inspecting the old school cars and be the head guy for the tbtc class and bring in a guys like Mark Elliott Brad Taylor and Ziz to help inspect that class. Then for the kicker class make billy estep the head guy the and get guys like toast Darrel Monroe to come in and help out there. Then mix your other guys like Derbynew trimmer fatty inspecting the other classes. Just my opinion

And what happened to only welding splits in the frames and fixit plates on cars after the heats? A bumper added to the back of a wagon after the heat bent my steering shaft and my bump stop....

Also saw an imp weld trailing arms in and tubing to his package tray only to go in the feature and run with the guys they swore they were going after.

We always need help. We always have people stopping in and out of our pits so always feel free to stop and chat too. And what happened to only welding splits in the frames and fixit plates on cars after the heats? A bumper added to the back of a wagon after the heat bent my steering shaft and my bump stop.... It looked to me there were wagons that welded where the frame splits after their heats... but they were still straight... BTW if you NC guys need any help fixing stuff next year let me know. The Brauns have a huge crew to help fix their crap, I'm more than willing to help you guys in the pits. Hell, I can bring my truck with torches, generator, welder... We could see how much wire you can fit on a Caddy. I'm more serious than a heart attack. I've loved watching you guys drive the last 5 years or whatever that I've gone there. You need some help, I'll be there.

There is more people than you think that would support the NC guys, we are all tired of seeing the favoritism and what not towards the same drivers, I know we’ll be there either with or without cars, if it’s without then we would love to come help you guys, if it’s with cars it would sure be nice to run with you guys! In derby we are all family!

I was unable to attend this year and have never ran bash - but supported and spectated - but in years past I also complained of uneven heat numbers and family/buddies/ big name guys Always being in the same heat with each other -hope some one reads the above post of live draw or something to make this more fair and even up the heats as much as possible- biggest show and promoter around should set examples you would hope

I say we all just ban together and get a group of 10 or so guys that have or can get a good old iron and show up at Bash next year and just flat put it on em. Hell evidently they allow team driving anyway so why cant we? We can call ourselves "The Nobodys" lol cause at Bash if your not a Braun or a Cioppa then your nobody anyway (so they think) lol. Plus it would be a good way for alot of us to meet each other in person instead of behind a screen.

We’ll bring the big rollback that has 2 winches on the deck, for whatever reason if a car was to bend we put one winch on one side and the second on the other side and pull, pulls cars out nice and straight
