Nothing to do with fwd strengths vs rwd strengths this year. All to do with team driving on both sides but the officials only throwing dirt and bitch when fwd cars teamed on a rwd car but the other way around they were fine. Inspection was a joke. We're told no patch cutting in order to place in multiple areas but turns out the majority of the rwd cars passed with that done. Was brought to Tims attn before The derby and nothing was done about it. Was the most bias shitty compact show I've ever seen. Also seen one of the compact inspectors helping rwd guys in the pits straighten their cars.....yeah...enough said I'm a big fwd guy but 4 fix it plates had little to no impact on the outcome of that derby. I agree inspection is definitely lacking for a 10k payout. the teaming between the rwd vs fwd guys has been going on for the last three years when they changed the payout. The fwd guys have to get better at not hitting each other and hitting rwds to have a chance. Besides a couple local rivalries most rwd cars leave each other alone.

If someone could figure out the rears on the FWD cars then it would be more equal. As I walked through the pits I saw axle saxers on RWD cars as big as your head. I don't run compacts up there but I think I could come up with something other than no rear bumper or trunklid, and some little tires that fall off. The only real advantage that I saw as a spectator/observer is that the RWD cars have two useable ends. The FWD cars only seen to have a good front and either are not allowed or just give up trying on the rears. Are you allowed to put the same rear axle under a FWD that the RWD guys use? Im not familiar with the rules. Maybe the FWD guys need the same leaf springs in the rear as the RWD guys have. That's what makes their rears so hard. IDK.

IMO the rules favor Ws. There is just too much that can go wrong with them, and an inferior drivetrain. I think it's odd that rwd cars can't run a trans brace, but fwd cars can.... I doubt you'll ever see a W stay running for an hour and a half in a derby. Why split them up? Do they run wagons and sedans in different TBTC classes? Your chances aren't nearly as good if you don't have a wagon, but that doesn't mean they should be split up.... I wouldn't want them split up. The rwds have 3 big advantages imo. Drive train, having a built rear and leaf spring cars. It's so dam hard to break an axle on those bastards. Let me leaf or at least tie my trailing arm mounts into my cage and we'll talk. Now I'm not advocating for rule changes, just saying I'm bringing a rwd next time i run that class. True on this !!!

You cannot shorten the frame trans brace is ok you must use a factory trans mount no aftermarkets allowed So you told me no shorting frames, but your tech crew said different.

As much as I hate to post something negative about this show I must. The rules and inspections are killing this show. Each year there is an effort to please another person or give another car this and that. When in fact all cars can somewhat be equal with actual enforcement. Don't know how many cars in TBTC that has dashbar next to the firewall or the window bar touching the dp. How many seams are not even hidden when welded these days? How many frames were plated and holes filled in? I can go on for days but when it comes down to it, you will never bring the TBTC class back 3 years without enforcing the rules that matter. Seen guys have to cut overlapped strapping on door seams while others had obvious kickers to there DPs and firewalls plated. This class will die and its not because of who keeps winning it, its because guys don't want to show up with a legit car and have to run against tanks. Many guys in that feature talked with me and many of them said the rules and inspections have gotten out of hand. Why even put a rule in there about no firewall welding or that the dash bar has to be 5 inches away from the firewall if you are not going to enforce it? I have been almost loaded at this show for frame hammering and then made to cut the frame seams a arms forward to run and it gained my respect, but now not even making guys cut kickers to dp out or not making them cut plates out of the frame it a little ridiculous. Make them cut the firewall loose like you said or don't even inspect the cars.

Anybody watch what happened in heat 4? I would say if your going to pull 1 stick then there where at least 2 others that should have come down as well. In the feature when those 2 FWDs where on the one RWD 2 officials where trying the wave them off. Don't get me started on inspections, hearing an inspector was helping out the RWD doesn't surprise me at all.
The vast majority of the RWD guys will not hit another RWD car (exceptions made for those local rivalries) however the a lot of the FWD guys will most certainly take those shots on another FWD given the chance. I'm not taking anything away from them guys, they brought the entire family and some friends, all with very high quality cars and it showed.

The wire cars need little John bars. I saw two close calls with rolled over cars. Personally, I will not run a fullsize car without one.
