Was wonder if you could get a serpentine belt around the water pump and crank or if you were better off running the altinator and power steering pump

Iv done it both ways in the past, however after running a few shows without power steering I wised up and put the alt and pwr steering pump back on. Much nicer to drive.

I dont run a fan or a rad so I didnt have to worrry about that stuff being in the way.

A Dayco 5060445 belt worked great for me for running just water pump and alt after my power steering pump got smashed from frame rail coming in. This was on an 89 Vic 5.0

Yup I use a stock 2bbl cast intake, motorcraft 2bbl carb and an eBay HEI. You will also need a low pressure fuel pump

Does the gauge cluster really need to be in to run the alt to charge the battery? 88 Lincoln TC.

Does the gauge cluster really need to be in to run the alt to charge the battery? 88 Lincoln TC. If you don't have the cluster you need to find the wire from the back of cluster that powers up the alternator for it to work. You will need power to that wire....(can't remember the color)
