I wondered when someone was gonna cut the frames down on these wish i would have had a way to keep my car from last year to do that to. I plan on building another one next year and cutting the frame down waiting on rules to know how much welding i can do to the front but i learned last year if you have to run them stock running the longest bumper shocks your alowed and a good tall bumper and make sure it stays on keeps the front ends good and if you can swap the intake its even better

I used a pt cruiser intake it worked really well but my motor was hurt from its first run so i would have to do the swap agin to profect it

Or just better throttle response? The stock intake on the stratus sticks down in the way but the swap brimgs the intake up over the top of the motor so it dosnt get crushed im not sure if it helps it run better or give it better throttle response it just helps keep the car running longer a good bumper goes along ways as well

hey guys, gotta buddy with an older stratus....been sitting for a while now...i do remember when he got it we tried to start it and it kept popping a relay or fuse. wouldnt fire. i cant remember many other details because it was so long ago. i just saw this thread and figured id ask. i remember changing the fuse or relay for a larger amperage but it would still pop that as well...maybe a short somewhere?

Do you have to run the air cleaner box on these cars. I took mine off along with some other parts and now it will no take the gas. I’m having same problem with an 02 stratus. How did you fix this?

Do you need some type of extension?

i just ran a dodge stratus and i am impressed it ran like hot garbage but didnt stop and got me qualified for my local derbies championship night biggest problem was probably not having a fuel pressure regulator causing the motor to massively over fuel and run like shit burned 3 gal of gas in like 10 min with flames out of the exhaust constantly the chrysler lhs i ran last year with the 6 cylinder could handle the extra fuel pressure while the little 4 cylinder could not we forced the rear sky high with a frame machine before the first derby in that derby my step dad got 4th the aluminum backed front bumper (my mistake) was just a chrome skin held to the frame with welded chains motor no longer idled it would hunt up and down(lost a plug off of intake due to hitting fire wall) spindle was broken but did not fall away from the car till after we were gonna be done for the year but things cleared up the day of the derby i spent 2 hours putting my battery box and fuel cell back in and welded the spindle i had to put the wheel on backwards to make it clear better and we went i drove forward all night and it kept on taking it last hit i went head on with a wbody he broke and i forgot to put mine in park it drove on the trailer and i could find no other reason for it to not start on the track after that derby the front left frame rail was bending in and the right was straight so would have been preventable with a real bumper all in all very impressed got a 4th and a 7th completely stock in a mod show
