Just bought a 1998 Chrysler Cirrus and picked up last Friday. Running a bone stock off-road derby in July and a bone stock derby the next night if it survives. Last time I ran derby was in 2009 and never driven a fuel injected car before, or one with air bags. I have lots of questions, but the first, how do I remove the air bag without smashing the sensor to make it go off? Thanks! Attachment Deleted

The ones on the passanger side im not sure i just took it out with the dash its pretty simple. If you make your own fuel tank for this car you cant use a boat tank the pump if i rember right is 12in long and you cant compress it or anything i used a tall propane tank when i made mine Thanks, are there wires attached to the air bag? Should I disconnect the battery before removal? Can I just relocate the fuel tank to the back seat or is it too big? Also, I plan on leaving the windshield in (per rules), is there any advantage to taking it out?

I would always discourage the use of a factory tank in any location. 3. Advantage to removal....you don't get sliced & diced. if you're not a midget and fat, also a good place to crawl in and out of.

Tsking the window out also makes it easier to get the dash out and i wouldnt run the stock tank for one its plastic and two its just never a wise idea. I have ran a few shows with the stock tank infront of the rear axel due to running out of time but its never a good idea its easy to make a tank for these out of a propain tank just weld really good mounts on it to keep it from flipping over since there top heavy

I always seem to get sliced and diced in the process of removing the thing! I am 6'0" 230 - And we have to have a driver window net - something to think about. Very much appreciate the feedback!

I guess one might think differently if you've had a bumper stuck in your window. Windshield removal sucks for sure, new process I started last season is cutting it out using a sawzall along the edges and then on a warm day, cut the glue out with a utility knife, minus a w/s removal tool, best method I've found so far. Don't forget the eye protection and long sleeves help a bunch if you go that route, and a shop vac, glass chards will be everywhere. Wouldn't hurt to that before you pull the carpet out, too. Good luck and pics or it didn't happen.

Rubber glue bit of both depending on how big of a hurry im in. I use the hard scraping blade gotta keep it sharp and dont try to cut the hole windo out at once i cut so much let it cool 5 minuts or so and then go a the other half. I tried a wood blade to see if the teeth helped but it didnt really it kind of made it alot harder to do
