Anything that's particular to these cars that needs some attention? Weird suspension parts with tricks to fix them? Other oddball stuff?

My wife has an 05 stratus with the dohc 2.7 v-6, redlines around 7000 I know that for sure. Don't know much bout the 4 banger other than its got a huge gawdy mess of plastic for an intake. Always have been told the 4 banger is a turd tho. The 2.7 v-6 is a beast of a motor for as small as it is. It's as fun to drive as a s/c gtp imho. Which motor ?

It could also be a 2.5 V6......not a monster, but not a turd either.

they are not as strong as people want to think....when people say mopar mini,i assume they mean k car?but the best mopar compacts in my area are late 80s to 90s intrepids,concordes,300m....these are the cars i tend to say are the hard mopar minis.and they are large wheelbase if i remember.
but on topic,i would build it as hard as possible...i just dont see it taking the hits like a w body or equally good starting platform would,if they had the same work.not saying its junk, just saying with the same amount of balls deep building,it might open up a can of shit.that say a w body or something wouldnt.

I bought this 2004 dodge stratus 2.4 auto as my first derby car for $200. the guy before me said he got first in his derby out of 20 cars it was pre ran one time and this was how i bought it ruining and driving welded and all thread thru front and rear. I then had to cut all the welds and take the all thread out so that i could run a local chain and go derby no bumper swaps allowed other than other fwd unibody bumpers Had a lot of fun my first run but did not do that great cause the track was very muddy and i overheated then i put new radiator and bumper on the next night and got first over all i would run another one but try out looping radiator lines because it seemed that i lost the radiator almost right away each time and it liked to over heat pretty fast i also would use the rear more because it was very hard and didn't move very much

For $200, you didn't get hurt a bit. On a side note, Guys that get stuck with a fwd uni body bumper rule need to spend the time to track down an early Citation bumper.
