Finally ran it for the first time and it ran very strong, upper radiator hose burst (never had that happen before lol) and lost water early but the engine never lost power, never stalled, and had no problem pushing cars around. Run #2 in a few weeks, this time I'll have the in car go pro mounted up.

not surprised..... I've never had one shut off from heat no matter how ridiculous the heat got. Here's all the ways I've killed a slant six:
1) half tracked someone and the carb broke in half (learned something there... some of the slant six carbs had just two long thin bolts holding the body together)
2) front end of car was bent so bad that I was hitting with the engine, which resulted in a big dent in the timing cover and a broken cam gear (fixed and ran again)
3) distributor cap (still haven't worked out a protector design that I like)
... but not heat. Water is optional lol

Love this. I took a 225 slant out of my restored Dart to put in a Badass small block. Knew the the slant was unkillable, but never crossed my mind to put it in the derby... Maybe when my current 318 finally dies.

How did you set up your distributor cause on mine I'm try to bypass the ecu but can't get any spark

Thinking of putting one of these in an AMC Spirit..
What do you think of rad clearance?
And how do you think they compare to the AMC 258?
