That is possibly one of the sickest things I've ever seen!!! I was dead set on not going to mayhem this year, but after this you may have changed my mind!

Crazily enough, I just found out that Ultimate Derby (the guys who run Blizzard Bash) just got my hometown county fair derby in Lake Co. IL. This show used to be HUGE but the last promoter pretty much ran it into the ground, they had a whopping 7 cars show up last year. Looks like the slant 6 will see the n.il/s.wi county fair circuit this year.

Haven't updated in a minute. Had the car running about 97% for months now, had this slight hesitation when I would mash the pedal. Everything gone through, carb tuned perfect, ignition complements all brand new, modified distributor, etc. Couldn't shake this hesitation. Decided yesterday to mount the coil vertically instead of horizontally. No more hesitation, car runs 100% perfect now. Coincidence? I don't know but I'll run every coil vertically from now on

Exactly what I was thinking, I should mention though that I'm running an internally resisted coil from a tractor. Could have something to do with it but still kinda think it was just a coincidence. All I know is that she runs absolutely perfect now and I can't wipe this smile off my face.

If there is a chance that it is the coil, and that it is already showing weakness, I'd throw it in the dumpster and make a trip down to the parts store. no need to risk that "coincidence" showing up again in the ring, may just quit all together.

^^ thanks for the advice, got a new coil for it today, still running like a champ. Ballzbe, no mayhem for me. I'll be there to watch but running my hometown show in July for the first time in 3 years for one of the best county fair payouts in the area.

Got mine from DEC. For it to seal to the gasket right though you'll need a half inch flange

can you post a picture of how it looks on the engine? Years ago I called those guys and talked about it with them.... my concern was with how it fits since the intake and the exhaust are all jumbled together and they told me they had no idea how it bolted up since they had never actually seen it on an engine (!). The guy said they made it from a pattern and had sold a couple but never seen one assembled.

Still doesn't sit perfect but you can thank sloppy intake manifold castings for that lol.
