I moved my fuel tank to the interior of the car and now the car won't start. It's a 96 Grand Marquis. The starter spins the motor...and the fuel pump is pumping. I don't think I'm getting any spark.
During the move, I cut the 4 wires that go to the pump. I re-wired them by wiring the black wire to the chassy (ground)...the pink/black to a switch that continues on to the battery. When I turn on the switch I hear the pump going and can feel fuel going through the line. I re-connected the Yellow/white and Pink/orange to the original leads. I think I may have popped a fuse or something since the wires were bare for a while after I cut them... I checked under the dash....the #7 fuse (25A)...looks fine...tried swapping in a 30amp I had laying around...still didn't start. I checked the power distribution box. Those fuses seemed fine too. Are there any other fuses or breakers that could be bad?
One more thing...the car has an alarm...I think it's aftermarket. There is a little black box that says "Hornet 730T" on it...I found two fuses in line with the box..both seem fine too. However, it used to make an annoying clicking nose when I put the ignition key in and turned the car one click...now, it's not making any noise. I found this link for the device:http://www.directed.com/guides/manuals/og/hornet/730T.pdf It doesn't have the wiring diagram though. I'm not sure if it's the cause or just a dead end.
Any help is greatly appreciated. And, if you need more info...please let me know what you need to know. Thanks for the help.

The car ran before moving the tank right? you already hot wired the pump so don't worry about factory wiring or fuses.Sounds like maybe you reversed the fuel lines when you put the tank in. if you still think it has no spark-get a spark tester at autozone or someplace. They look like a sparkplug with a clip attached.then you can check for spark at the plug.

No problem. When I'm building cars I always do one thing at a time-move a wire harness, switch the tank, etc, then make sure the car runs after. That way you can go back to the last thing you did and start there.

Recently Picked up a 92 Merc. Saved it from the scrap yard, literally stopped the guy on his way to the yard with it on the trailer. Once I picked up the car I noticed they had removed all the exhaust right from the manifolds and cut all the o2 sensors off. Car will hardly idle now. My question is do I need to replace the o2 sensors? or could the problem be somewhere else.

Had same with a 92 Lincoln town car ,fuel line was sucking air causing low fuel pressure at idle. Changed to a boat tank and external pump and it was ok.
o2s were off it.
