I tried mine also!! lol the tailshaft on a 3 speed is harder than automatic, at least that is what nerat told me. Which I believe! I took my tranny to my local machine shop and he drilled and tapped it for 50 bucks. My next one I will bring just the shaft to him and will be cheaper because its not so bulky like a whole tranny, either that you will need a carbide tip drill bit and those aren't cheap. good luck

thought i would get help but need some help got pics of my 2 3-speeds 27 splinded out put shaft i really need 2 figure what gears 3:73 is 2 low

3.73 gears aren't too low. I run 3.90's n my rearend with a muncie three speed and love it. Imo saginaw three speeds are junk. In 6 runs I've broke 4 of them. I usewhats called a brass button clutch with a heavy pressure plate napa can get on for u. I also run a cable setup for my clutch pedal. Seen too many hydraulic clutch set ups break. A old bus emergency cable works good. I use the brake pedal out of new style fords for a clutch pedal. Just cut the pedal down some. Also if u run a three speed make sure it is braced up and your slider isn't bent. Also make sure 2nd and 3rd are removed or non workable. I learned the hard way about not taking 2nd and 3rd out. Also make sure u run a shatterproof bell housing.

My buddy bought a set-up last year from a guy selling out and it has a external slave and uses the brake master cylinder to run the clutch and rear brakes. One hose goes to rear brakes, and one to slave. Takes some adjusting to get it right but works pretty slick. Press the pedal and it disengages the clutch and locks the rear tires up.

You dont want to lock the brakes up when u hit. Your bound to break something. Want to lock up the brakes only when your shifting gears and always push your clutch in when you hit or you'll break a three speed

I put a new 3 speed in my car with ram hydro throw out and xx pedal and the pedal is so stiff takes two feet to push, anyone know y?

May have too many bushings(spacers) behind the throwout bearing. It shouldn't take 2 feet to push although a racing clutch will be stiffer than a stock.

Ive never had that issue but that'd be my guess. I had a ram clutch and it was close to twice as hard to push as my stock one

ok thanks for info. how many shims do u run I have the big rock extreme so it got th half inch plate between trans and motor..

Ah, k. I use 3 shims behind mine but my bellhousing is against the block. Not sure how many would take up the extra 1/2". Not to get off topic but I was curious of wat is all needed to space on back. Never used or had a Dp and thinking about getting a big rock

the only thing I was told by big rock was to use the extra long pilot bushing. never asked about throw out bearin tho.

the bore size of your master may be too big. a smaller bore mastercylinder makes the pedal easier to push. try using a 3/4" bore wilwood.
