does anyone know the difference between a saginaw and munci 3-speed transmission? ive talked to alot of people and noone seems to know. maybe epr can chime in here? attn: moderator, please dont group this in with the other 3-speed thread. any input would be greatly appreciated thanks

I am considering running a 3 speed, about how much $$ do you think i'll need to spend to have a competitive setup? any suggestions would work

What do you guys recommend for a 3 speed set up ? know where a three speed is from a 76 3/4 truck for $50-$75. Car it self is a 70's with 4:88 gears in a 10 bolt bia.Car will be a little heavier then stock since it's a modified build.Motor is basically a stock chevy 350.thx

All you need is the front e brake cable from a 70-80's Chevy, make a pedal and a stock clutch works fine. Isn't expensive to put a cheap reliable setup together.

Does anyone have any experience drilling and tapping these? Most are case hardened I believe, which means the first 1/2" or so is gonna be a pain. I have a solid carbide bit coming to get through the hard stuff. Any certain RPM you guys run? Have you broken a carbide bit doing this?

Tried once and said screw it and just started welding studs on, waaaaay easier than trying to drill. Easiest way in my book. Or you could pull the output shaft and cut half an inch off and then drill it.

Stud might be easier but I wanted all the clearance I could get between the u-joint and bolt/stud holding the yolk in

Yeah i saw that im looking for the hydraulic throw out that mounts inside the bellhousing. I dont want to have to change my tranny protector and dont really want to hve somethings hanging off the side. Thanks for the help though.
