So, I finally started to build my 72 Lincoln Mark 4. To me they look similar to the later frames, other than it is C-chanel like the 71-73 GM's are. I'm building it to a set of smashit prostock rules. Would this car be more like a 73-up thread? Or is this thread going to be better for it? It is a 100% rust free car.

Running a 72 Lincoln mark IV in august. If you are allowed to pre notch the rear at the c channel frame and hard nose and weld the bumper on they are strong cars. I ran a 79 cougar as well and ran it in a feature and the main and placed 3rd. These are not cars if you do it correctly. Also have had a guy run the same mid 70s third for 2 years and will run it again this year. He has placed 4th both years with it. Not a week set of cars or drivers either we have multiple heats of 10 cars and ram a 16 car main event lasting 20 minutes.
