2 years to new to be a real good slammer, 64 is the cut year on the galaxy. If your looking for a car that has a chance at being there at the end keep looking.

Pass on it. It's not any good. Look for a 1958-1964. 64 is the cutoff year for the good old ford cars.

This should really be broken down even more.
The T-bird up to 66 are good.
The 65-68 Fords are the real sh!t boxes.
69+ have very similar designed front frames as the mid 70's, thats why the Joliet team derby race guys want 69+. Not saying they are a great car or anything like that, but they are atleast somewhat workable over the full channel frames of the 65-68s.

Yes, I agree with you on the Thunderbirds, and the Lincoln Continentals from 61-69 are a good car too... The Thunderbirds however, now have there own section from what I have seen. And the Suicides have had a section. I think this thread is for the odd and end 65-73 Fords: Galaxies, Galaxie 500s, Mark III, etc.

I've ran a 67 Country Squire wagon. Took a lot of work to make it a decent car. Changed rear frame rails from humps back to a set from an 80's Ford wagon. Changed front frame rails to a set from an 80's Caprice. Full frame seam welding and hump plates. It was a fun car but I doubt I'd go through all the work again.

Don't know anything about Ford/Mercury, is a 66 Monteclair any good. How does it compare to Newports and New Yorkers of same era? Thanks.

With a little pre-bending the trunk, it'll fold up pretty nice. I'd weld/clamp/wire the rear coils in. I think the Mopars have a better front and rear. This would be for a stock derby.
