In my experience the best way to modify steering arms is remove the pitman and idler arms. Mark an outline of the stock component on a table or cardboard, heat one end, bend, heat the other end, bend, match to your template/pattern and then reinstall. The trick is to get a drop without changing the angles that the drag link requires to run without resistance. You can also heat and bend the drag link in the middle some for additional oil pan clearance. The primary objective besides achieving the necessary drop is to ensure smooth movement when finished from lock to lock. I usually check this before I ever hook the tie rods up. If my explanation does not make any sense, do not attempt. JMO

well i got the motor in .. and i did use a porta power.. we are not allowed a DP for the show this car was originally being built for.. but they would not allow me aftermarket brake pedal or pinion brake so its going to another show however the firewall is already cut and i am not pulling the motor..

well i ran the 68 this weekend.. and the front is still straight.. i ran the nose most of the derby and the assend folded beautiful.. the transmission did not hold up to the abuse and the last track shot i did swayed the BODY only sides not figured out how yet.. but the steering shaft broke at the box.. i will post some afters but i would build another one with some late 70s steering or fabricated/reinforced steering componets..

I am building a 1972 Ford Galaxie. Going to be a stock class. Trunk is pretty rusty but the rest of the car is solid. I'll post some build pictures and before and after pictures over the next couple weeks.

Pretty sure 71-73 r the same cars...71&72 some have the square hole on the inside of the frame right at the front and they don't have bumper shocks. Can look at the 73-79 thread and all the info u need will be there. And fill that hole in

Curious who ran the 30 car in pine city mn 2015, in the old iron heat it looks like a 70 mark III. Car took a wicked front end shot and besides the rear end breaking on the blocks the front never moved.
