Out of curiosity what is the difference between a 59 tbird and 59 galaxy? The front frame looks the same from what I saw? Ehhh... you sure you were looking at a T bird and a Galaxie? T-birds are unibody like a suicide Lincoln. Galaxies have body that bolts to the frame like a GM or Vic.

That's what I wanted to know mainly, thanks... It was a built car so I couldn't see to much except when they drove in the arena, I saw the front frame diped down the same and had leafs.

For power steering on the 59/60's do you replace the steering box with a 70s 2wd truck box? Or does anyone know what quality power steering box lines up?

I think it needs to be a 4wd box...on my galaxie I noticed it favors more of the 4wd box because the 2wd box is a lot taller then the 4wd...but I don't know,I'm running manual box at the moment,no p/s for me

A 4x4 box has the reverse Pitman arm, which means your steering box is in front of your steering linkages, Tbird steering box sits behind steering linkage.
Your box is in front of a-arms I think... Tbird is behind. Need 2 wheel drive. A 4x4 box will cause the steering wheel to turn in the opposite direction.

They do dip infront of the a arms like a 58-64. Thats about where the similarities end. The 58 tbirds were coil sprung in the rear then they switched to leafs in 59.

Has anyone put there bumper shocks down the inside of the frame rails on these than welded the mounting plate down the outside of the frame? If so how did it work for you? I haven't seen any like that. I'm building a 65 tbird and was thinking of trying it.

I haven't seen any like that. I'm building a 65 tbird and was thinking of trying it. Are you talking inside inside of frame or inside as in engine side of the frame rail? Either way I'd stick to running it down the outside of the frame. Welding the mounting plate down the side would only be effective if you moved it back, they don't bend from the bumper bracket mounting holes forward. They bend between the furthest back bumper bracket hole and the a arm. I'm in no way saying it won't work or isn't worth trying, just stating what iv experienced from building these.

So I picked up a couple of cheap 64 TBirds, and one of them is clean, the other is rusty, so that’s going to the scrap yard. I’m wondering if it’s possible or worth anything to pull the front sub out of the rusty one(front sub is still clean. I plan to keep the rearend, leafs, and front clip.

You can't pull the "sub" out, the whole car is one piece. There's not a single body bolt in the whole ride.

You can cut it out. Then take that frame to double your stub under the good one.
