Could I run a boat tank with an inline pump? If so, how would I go about doing the return line?

Could I run a boat tank with an inline pump? If so, how would I go about doing the return line? I take out the fuel line hook up on the boat tank, run two lines through a piece of sheet metal, and screw that in place of the original fuel line hook up. gives u a return and a feed. just make sure u reach the botom of the tank. I also put a roll over valve in it, but thats just me. this way tanks can still be used for carb applications. as an added measure i seal it all up with sealer around the plate.

1992 Honda, I'm running a race but must move factory tank to back seat area, my question is can I just cut the gas line and extend them with rubber line? Will regular 3/8 hoes clamps be enough to hold the pressure? And will I have to hook up return line also?

New here so bare with me
Running mini smash up in Ontario 97 cavalier I took the stock fuel pump and stripped it to the bare pump. I have a marine tank on which it has a steel line going down to draw fuel for a boat. I'm going to strap the pump to that line and run the line to the top of tank with barb and a barb for return. Run two wired to a universal pigtail so I can use with any car.
Will this work? Why and why not? Will post pics later

Right. I'm running with trillshow. Tillsonburg this weekend. Right with the wires. And I know some vehicles won't work because of the fuel pressure will be different but for Chevy cars should work.

And I know some vehicles won't work because of the fuel pressure will be different but for Chevy cars should work. ive never hooked up a pig tail before for my wiring, I just have those 2 wires negative go right to the battery and then run the positive to the 2 switches required for fuel system hook.
ive never had a problem with different cars requiring different fuel pump pressure, I know some do require more but ive run the same tank in almost all my cars with the same fuel pump. Volvo/ford/Chrysler/ and ive been using a chevy Silverado pump.

Ive been building a couple of new fuel cells after years of using boat tanks which im getting heavier into running compacts now than full size. So ive been making mine out of 1/4 inch plate and making them a 1'x1' box for the pump mounting and pickup and return a 2000 ford f150 sending unit works great because it uses a thick rubber gasket and already has mounting holes in it and also because you can attach any pump to it you want.
