The best fuel injection system is the factory gm setup. Either carb is the same I run both the 2g seems to use a lot less fuel for me but the holley has a bit more power but it is probably all in the tuning

Efi setup, and carb setup cost about the same..depending how u shop…the efi cars I’ve seen run really really well…58psi for efi is kind of scarey running thru the inside of the car,but if you don’t half ass anything,u would be great…it’s all personal preference…both will get the job done

I think it depends on the shows you run an fuel you want to run . If carb I prefer a 500cfm alchy or race fuel. An I also run Daytona sensors ignition now over the MSD 6014. If you like E85 or alcohol an run lengthy heats I’d run fuel injection fairly simple an don’t have to spend the money on a Holley terminator to do that . Just my opinion I play with a lot of these am usually have 3 on the engine stand at all times from derby motors to hot rods I’ just finished a 5.3 with an 8:71 blower on it fuel injected E85 for a burnout truck

Absolutely need to run the mid-plate. An if you can mod the thick converter cover. Do that as well.

If going that route. I’d buy a simplified harness off eBay American made for around 200. An use computer out of donor. Only issue could be oil pan depending on the car it’s going in. I like to use the F body pan an pickup tube. Cut the front half of windage tray out instead of buying one. An pull fuel pump out of donor ride to retrofit in tank you’re using.

The VATS security yes.. They are not that complicated once you get acclimated. If yours has the aluminum fuel rails it’s flex fuel capable so can run E85 or Meth out of them as they sit

What causes the blocks to break? Why do you have to run a mid plate? Where is it supporting?

I don’t see where the mid plate is gonna help the block at all. If anything it might help take some stress off the bell. Been running Ls for a few years now and just last month broke my first bell and it was on the opposite side of the blank hole.

If you don’t run the mid plate an nose the car. You will break the block an starter will be laying on the track. The mid plate will prevent that. Broke three before using the mid plate
