Might be a dumb question but why are these cars called pinch framers? Google search brought me right back to here. Most likely running a 63 fury in a stock show this summer.

So I take it they aren’t a somewhat tough car in stock form? Read through the other pages but rules don’t allow to weld seams anywhere

The unibody rails are "pinch" welded together.

I'm not sure if this is the right area but is a 62 imperial any good? Got the chance to snatch one up for dirt cheap. Figured I would sell it to someone else because no shows around me allow imperials

You kinda answered your own question. If they don't let you run them they must be good lol

Or do people prefer the 73 up imps better 62 is full frame up to 66 62 and 63 have spot welded body panels that need to be fully welded but aside from sheet metal its the same as 64-66 imperial. Good car absolutely but absolutely less desirable because of the amount of body work to do

Hey guys, building my first old iron car, a 74 dodge dart 4 door. Swapping the slant 6 to a 318, I want the slant in tact for a rat rod project. I really haven't been able to find much any evidence of guys running these cars anywhere, so any help on what to look for and what to do is appreciated. I'll most likely be running this next fall against a pretty nasty class that allows imps, hearses and limos, so I'm just looking to give her hell and make some junk.

Believe ypur wheel base is short enough you may be able ti run midsize not good cars at all for fullsize
