I take front calipers and throw them in the scrap pile. Depends on if you want front brakes or not

I would think that having no front brakes would make you vulnerable to being pushed around and pushed on top of tires or logs or what ever the ring has for barriers. I know I have done that to lots of cars. It is one of my favorite things to do and sometimes the only way to eliminate a stout car. I like good brakes because it gives you control,.

I plan to put 16s in the front of my 83 caddy deville.. And 15s in the rear is this a good idea? And what 16 in rims can I get ahold of that will work without weld in centers?

Crown vic spindles help with ride height on a tilted metric caddy like you are building. Check out the metric caddy picture thread. I have one on there with 700-15 forkys on the front and 23x8.50x14 skiddys on the rear.

Would as rims be good for the stock rear on a 96 caprice? Or should I go with something that will bend a bit to save axles? First time running Chevy. Thanks.

Did gm ever make a 14 inch 5x5 rim? i dont think gm did, if they did it is very rare and old, but suicide lincolns and old mercs and edsels had some, but still rare and a smaller hole in the center.

Did gm ever make a 14 inch 5x5 rim? Not technically, buick and Olds did in the 60's they are hard to find but they are out their I have 6 or 7 of them. Well worth the time to pick them up...work great for shows that don't allow weld in centers.

I know I have done that to lots of cars. It is one of my favorite things to do and sometimes the only way to eliminate a stout car. I like good brakes because it gives you control,. Hey; I also like front brakes. At least one on the drivers side. It helps from being pushed around. On the drivers side ( A trick I learned on here ) I discard one pad. I then compress the caliper ,then cut off the bolts that stick out. I have a manual brake master cylinder now so I think I,m going to run them both. Because I have been building in the city and I build to the day of or day before the derby. The only shaking down I have been able to do is a few big power brakes. You have to have front brakes to do power brakes. Even if I had a month in the country to shack it down. It would suck not to be able to do power brakes in My derby car. Radrider,
