This might have been covered in here somewhere but as I was studying how I'm going to fix my 80s vic passenger front horn i just got the idea would an 03^ front horn work on an 80s frame or would it be to narrow? Cuz got me to thinking if it'd work why not restub an 80s frame aarms forward with an 03^ aarms forward and itd do away with the bend up front and itd be straight. Anyone done this or am I just dumb for thinking about it lol

Makes sense. Around here we would have had to re stub it aarms forward or youd have had to turn it into what we call a mod around here to run it if you shortened it the way you needed. I'm still surprised at how that bent like that I've never seen one bend down like the way yours did lol

Shoulda ran a couple kickers if you would have been allowed to would have kept it down atleast behind the aarms anyway lol Bone stock class, not allowed to do that. It was shortened 6 inches, plated 12 inches from front bumper (which was pretty much to the a arms), and plated at the firewall and it still still buckled right behind he crush box under my down bars. Marshmallow... I'm surprised they let you shorten it that far. Around here for stock it can't be any shorter than the factory front mounts. The only fords I have luck with are the 80s but maybe thats just me id rather have one of them than any of the newer fords but thats just me

80s ford/lincoln is a good bone stock car that doesn't require alot of work to be somewhat competitive for a first timer. Main things you need to focus on is a reliable motor and trans then go from there

I guess you could try tab, bottom and back. And tilt it that way should be able to weld all that back. Im not sure just the tab will give you the tilt advantage. Not allowed to tilt so can't make it super obvious. Main reason I'm doing it is the way it is bent. You can do it by just cutting that front tab. Had a buddy do that to one bc he didn't know the proper way to tilt a Ford by cutting the tabs so he only cut the front tab. I remember him saying it was a pain in the butt to get it to tilt but it's definitely doable. But if you have motor and trans still in that would help I think

Do they bend there still when they aren't tilted? Not sure on that but with the way this car seems to be bending up front on you I don't think it'd hurt lol

I was thinking about trying that method on my next stock car but after seeing that front end bend like that I'm thinking maybe just stick to what's been working lol

Helps with idle gives it just a little more air. It helps the idle not drop to low and die when you rev it up and let up fast Definitely going to remember this trick for future reference! Definitely learned something new here.

I dont think I've seen or heard of this trick. What does this help by drilling those holes?

Ya I've heard of alot of guys starting to do that but I'm not sure if its because alot of them have had them bend like that or if its just one of those well so and so plated it like that and won and now its grown into everyone's starting to do it lol. My biggest thing with these darn fords is one side infront of the aarms always seems to bend weird as hell no matter what I do lol Hit more square I dont think I cant hit much squarer its that the spring buckets collapse then the front kinda starts doing its own thing after that happens lol
