Can I run the car without the map sensor?

Let me know how it does. I was supposed to run mine on the 22 but the fair banned exhaust through the hood if you can imagine that. So now I have to wait till the end of August.

Noticed on my car that there is no radiator cap. The line that runs into the top of the overflow tank comes out by the water neck. I undid that line from the tank and coolant was steady pouring out. Do I need to keep the overflow tank or is there a way around it?

You could use an inline radiator cap. Or relicate the expansion tank to the firewall.

Did any cars come with a nice online filler/cap? Might have to go to the junkyard

Plastic, but I've never had one break Your lucky, I tried them as a cheaper alternative to the aftermarket aluminum ones once...needless to say it didn't work. Combo of harsh impacts and. 28lb cap and boom it shattered in a million pieces.

I see no sense in running higher pressure caps. The more pressure you have in the system, the hotter it'll get. If I use them, I keep them tied to the engine where they won't get hit.

Personally I run a high pressure cap and an expansion tank. But Im not going to try to explain cooling systems. There is a thread I posted just for that.

My 92 roadmonster wagon came with a cap on the rad but my Vic I'm building didn't. I got rid of the tank and put in a 15 lb relief valve from a steam heating system. I ran it on a Lincoln I built last year. Worked great. I suppose you could do the same thing here.

What is the little plug on the back of the alternator for? My headers are pretty close to it and I don't want to melt anything important. I'm gonna wrap headers this week
