What would be the best thing to use to plug the hole?

IDK, I have no experience with LT1s but you cant leave anything open on any intake.

Almost sounds as if it's just burning the fuel that the pump primed the engine with when you turn the key on. Gon a try and Hotwire the pump wires right to a battery and see what it does. Any other ideas? Derby is the 28th

If that doesn't work, how much time and money would it take to convert to carb? If I went the cheap way. Gotta give car back to scrapyard when I'm done but I'm going to try and buy engine and trans if I can

I'm not sure if theres a cheap way on a LT1. They are an oddball engine. The water pump runs off the cam.

If worse comes to worse and it doesn't run right I know a guy that can weld in exhaust bungs for o2 sensors

I'm building one of those right now too. I wire my fuel pumps direct right to the battery with a switch on the dash. Can you see the fuel spraying into the TBI? Mine gave me grief cause it fouled the plugs. Wanted to start but it wouldn't. New plugs and it fired right up!

I've messed around a little with these. There's a hole in the block for a distributor and there's also a gear on the cam that turns some sort of dummy shaft where a distributor would normally go.
If I were to run one I'd try swapping intakes and use a carb and dizzy. Just leave the old dizzy where it is.
You'll need an electric fuel pump and regulator too.
I have not done any of what I suggested just my opinion on what I'd try from looking into these motors and tearing into them a little bit.

Somebody told me the lt1's had reverse cooling or something like that. What intakes would bolt up?
