I called it back when they released the new rules that it was gonna be a bag fest this year, with all the rules they've taken away in the past four years were now back to damn near mild weld rules. Everyone used to be confident with thier noses and weren't scared to use them. Now they know its junk real quick if you use it.

Hey man I'm just trying to throw out ideas to keep the premium marquis class in the event from becoming the OFFICIAL time to take a piss between TBTC Heats so you dont miss any real action. I have always supported Smashit and have been going to the events since Marysville 1994. They didnt get this way by not adjusting and continually improving. I'd build a maddog car myself if I my back could take it anymore. I will also readily admit I dont have the skill to build a competitive car in that class. All of that said we go there all 13 thousand of us to see destruction. Apparently Im not the only one-as the classes that are making the news are the classes with maddogs and cars that BEND! You take out Shane Jones, Hickman and Zack Campbell from those heats and they were snoozers. Literally there were dudes layed out and asleep in the stands...I mean seriously come on! I'll throw my money into a maddog award-how bout you to keep the 80's class entertaining..... I'm gettin old but I dont need to piss every other heat that TBTC isnt on the track. Hats off to BOTH the wire ups and the TBTC classes. You absolutely made the show! All of the one and done classes were entertaining making JUNK! 80's guys I highly respect your builds and money/time invested. I love the look and the sound. Its just taking too long to bend those beyatches. It has become a game of front passenger wheel fold over then your out. Nothing else ever really breaks or bends. Just some comments on how to improve the greatest show in the country. I've been to Mayhem and if I ever go back I'll bring a good book and sell race fuel to the drivers. For a good time go to the Bash for Cash! So what your saying is when you go back to bash you will take a good book and sell race fuel to the 80s class. If you like the wire class action so much maybe you should check out Metal Mayhem for a good time. I prob will if the major changes this year improve the MM show. I was there in 2010 and 2011 and it was awful to sit through. The 80's here in Ohio could head that way if we dont continually improve the class. Back in 2010 the only class that was entertaining was the stock class. That mod class was dreadfull. I am hoping MM comes back. I just refused to spend any more of my money on it these last few years. I've been to Mayhem and if I ever go back I'll bring a good book and sell race fuel to the drivers. For a good time go to the Bash for Cash!

My signature was simply to ask for change to the MM show. Its not about a man, a team or someones abilities. Im not about tearing down promoters or any of that. To me its all about keeping the sport alive to pass on to my two boys. MM was dying a slow agonizing death. It has been dreadful to attend. We used to have several Ohio guys go to that show back when it was fun. If the changes lead to a better show maybe some of them will return which gives us fans a reason to return and spend $$$ again. Let us know how it turns out.
Im done commenting on here as I have said enough. Bring on the county fairs and the Keystone Nationals!

Overall a great weekend. Had a blast hanging out and putting some faces with a bunch of snapchat buddies and facebook friends. I thought the derby was awesome. I didn't mind the 80's class. It give everyone the full spectrum of demolition derbies this day in time. There was everything from Rc cars to cars with 6 months of welding in them. There really is no way to speed that derby up other than taking the build away from the back of the car IMO. The fronts are nasty but wont withstand a ton of beating either. The back of the car is built so nice that the guys realize they can use it forever. Take some of the back build away and you force them to start driving forward sooner. The TBTC class was awesome and it sucked that more of us from NC didn't make the journey with cars for various reasons. From my perspective the builds evolved even more this year and it seemed the mentality was to do what you want and then wait for your options. The unlimited welding beads is ridiculous. I personally will not have a way to transport a welder 10 hours to this show and it has always been you could re sheet the doors and had to have approval before you put a bead of weld anywhere with no plates. Kudos to Smashit for the way they handled inspections and how much inspecting they got done in the amount of time they are allocated. I do want to make a suggestion though. I would assign inspection times to those who preregister and then have a reinspection area setup for those who have to go back through. It seems as though the inspections on Friday are a little more rigid and then on Saturday the inspectors are sort of rushed because of the shear amount of cars they have to inspect. This could help. Also, give entry fee back if you make it through on the first time through. It aint a lot of money but serves two purposes. One it rewards drivers who are technically underbuilt...lol and second can help to speed up the process by encouraging the builders to stay within the rules.

In my eyes the weld rule was fine the way it was get permission to fix what was needed and be done to open that up after everyone is already there was shady maybe everyone didn't have access to a welder but I think a couple people got catered to on this rule and it was over board BS

The welding rule has already been discussed and next year there won't be any extra welding after the heats just fix it plates that smash it will provide to try to police iT

I think its fine, IF they let us know before hand so that we can bring welders from out of state. If they wait and tell you at the show it hurts the guys who were not prepared

Mitch has some videos on YouTube if ya wanna check them out Trying to get videos online as soon as I can. Long length HD videos take more bandwidth and time per upload. Managed to get 2 uploaded this morning when youtube upload times are fast...20 minutes each. This afternoon it takes about 40-50 min per video to upload. (add another 30 for processing time on their servers) Plus I need the internet for work haha; so it's an internet connection war between uploading and then taking a break to do work. I will be uploading the Bash videos all week long. Doing the 80s mod class videos last. (Due to both less interest from viewers and longest video upload times for them)

The welding rules was bs, not everyone got to weld as much as others as you could see from the results, the cars that had junked rails after the heats were still straight after feature and cars who had rails straight after heats were junk in feature!! Unlimited weld should of never happened because not everyone was allowed the same amount of weld on the frame!! Should of been voted on Saturday morning before releasing the cars, bad decision on promoters part!!

It is not on the rule sheet and was not discussed in the drivers meeting to my knowledge unless I missed it.

We were pulling out sunday and saw it but didn't know if everyone was ok They need to get some pull off people who know what they're doing. When I ran Bash '13 my roof got peeled open like a sardine can because they thought 20 gauge steel could support the whole car.
