That's awesome. Happened to me once. I let him strip a Pacer for me. He even gave me a leftover Gremlin parts car to boot. both you all should be shot Wouldn't be the first time. Love it when a deal like that comes about though.

I stuck this in the wrong post lol. Reposting
OK so the factory fairmont thermactor exhaust system has too much crap under the hood and too much heat with two convertors.
CJs Mustang parts had a black Friday sale on their new repro 60s mustang six cylinder manifold for $75 shipped. Got it Friday. Casting looks pretty piss poor. If I was restoring a mustang I'd be unhappy but for derby it looks good enough. Now i can run a straight pipe up through the hood. My son wants a rain flapper because it looks cool, lol.
Grabbed a pair of 25-8.50-14 used skid steer tires on Craigslist for $60 and a nearly new Mercedes takeout Agm battery for $30. Those big Merc batteries have a lot of amps. My buddy gets them from a Merc dealer as cores, they change them every two years as part of their free maintenance and there's usually nothing wrong with them.

A couple years ago he sent it to the scrapper before I had a chance to get it. They are still around but weren't very popular and around here rotted out bad, a lot of them are long gone.

I have the chance to get a good deal on a 81 Fairmont 4 door sedan with the 200 6 cyl, don't know a lot about the platform though. Looking to build a hard rwd compact for Bash4Cash 18. Any opinions on that car for Bash rules, and opinions comparing it to a Pinto wagon or sedan that I can also get?

Any opinions on that car for Bash rules, and opinions comparing it to a Pinto wagon or sedan that I can also get? Just did my 83 with 200 motor. Ranger 7.5" axle is the same, you can find a 7.5" Ranger rear end with 4.11s or 3.73s pretty easy, so ditch that 2.73 ring and pinion...I'm running Ranger 3.73 ring & pinion lincoln locked and two square-body Ranger left axle shafts & drums so i can use Ranger 14x6 5x4.5 wheels with 25-8.50-14 Galaxy skids tubed. Front factory wheels get 8-14.5 lowboy trailer tires tubed with vs protectors. Delete the gigantic exhaust manifold and dual converters. The early mustang/falcon log manifold bolts right on you have to either replace the three long studs or else i ground down some of the crappy capped lug nuts as spacers and worked fine. I got to find a way to do pictures.
