Almost bought one to drive. My mechanic told me they are immensely hard to work on to replace any engine or under hood parts. Said some places charge extra labor hour than the regular quoted job. With that in mind, I would make sure that car runs good before buying it to derby. If it needs work, then you know going in that it will take some time.

according to wikipedia the unibody is one of the strongest unibodys gm ever developed. i wonder if swapping out the motor with a v6 would be a good option

You would think the front frame and suspension would be good in order to handle the extra weight.

If their in line or behind radiator support, that's not a good sign. Look like a widened H body to me and I'm willing to bet the fronts hold up the same.

If you can run them, fullsize chrysler bumper shocks extended make a world of difference on these cars. Not as good as W-body, but at least competitive.

I am running a 98 Lesabre w/3800 in a pretty stock show. What is everyone doing with the computer in the front river side fender? Any others do's or dont's would be appreciated. Thanks I took the one I had in my 04 Impala and tied it to my throttle body and the intake tube using nylon baler twine. Kept it well out of the way. My 97 Olds 88 actually has enough wire where I can put it in the cab with me.

I am looking for any and all ideas, tricks, tips, etc. For this car. Its a 95 buick park avenue, and the event im running with it basically has no rules. I would like to know some kinda ideas on how to strengthen this car so its basically a battering ram. First time doing a uni-body so i am kinda lost with it. Any kinda help would be awsome and well appreciated. And if anybody has any pics on cv shafts that are beefed up i would deffinently like to see them to do that also. Thank you.
