The Demolition Derby at the Trempealeau County Fair will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. Registration will be held 3 hours prior to show.

2017 Rules
The following are general rules and information:
1. Entries are first -come first -serve starting after 4:00 pm.
2. Vehicle entry fee is $30.00 for the first vehicle and $10.00 for each additional vehicle except for the Bone Stock Class which is $50.00. The entry fee for any class includes your Pit Pass.
3. Pit Passes are $20.00 for spectators and pit crew. Passes are not available to anyone under age 16.
4. Vehicles may not leave the pit area until all competition is over.
5. Emergency vehicles must be given access at all times.
6. NO demo vehicles in parking area for any reason at any time.
7. Vehicles must be stripped or prepared prior to entering the grounds. Additional stripping is only allowed after competition or at the direction of Demo Promoters.
8. Retaining bolts may not protrude more than two inches beyond a single nut and only a common washer may be used on each retaining bolt. No washers allowed over 4” in diameter.
9. Do not leave any tires or rims on the grounds. Tires/rims may be subject to a deposit at registration if excess tires/rims remain at the demo site after Monday following the demo competition.
10. Owners must remove their vehicles by noon on Monday following the derby or they become the property of the Fair’s designated/licensed salvage dealer.
11. The number of entries in each heat will be determined by Derby Promoters.
12. Vehicle hood must be popped and ready to open before the car enters the pit area for inspection..
13. Demo Promoters will provide rules for counting-out procedures at the Drivers’ meeting.
14. Top five vehicles out of each class are subject to post derby inspection.
15. Derby officials have final word, no exceptions.
16. No Imperials or Chrysler products with Imperial sub frames allowed.
17. Starting time on Saturday night is 7:30 p.m. Registration will be held 3 hours prior to
show time.
18. In order to have enough parking space for spectators we ask that Demo participants have only one vehicle in the area. Please park trailers and additional vehicles in designated areas.
19. No reserved seating space will be allowed. Blankets will be removed when the bleachers are cleared before admission tickets are sold.
20. Valve stem protectors will be allowed.
21. Protective eye wear is required.
22. Cable shifters, floor mounted brake pedals and gas pedals are allowed in any class. DO NOT ABUSE THIS! Mounting plates must be kept within reason and not structurally reinforce the car.
23. Just because it doesn’t say something in the rules, doesn’t mean you can do it. We don’t want to not let anyone run, call and ask don’t over build and get turned away.
24. Pinion brakes are allowed in all classes, stock classes are not allowed to use this to reinforce rearend housing (Needs to be simple and only used for the purpose of brakes).
These rules are designed to insure the continued safety of the Demo Derby participants, promoters and spectators. Thank you for your continued cooperation.
Light/Compact Cars Rules:
1. All drivers under age 18 must have parent or legal guardian present at sign-up or have a consent form signed by parent or legal guardian.
2. Light cars must have a maximum 113” wheel base if front wheel drive and maximum 109” if rear wheel drive. Light cars no full frames or v8 engines.
3. All glass must be removed; including in bottoms of doors.
4. No reinforcement of any kind allowed frame or body; Driver’s door may be reinforced or welded in place. May have a 4 point floating cage. (This consists of a dash bar, seat bar, and a door bar on each side. This is not to reinforce car, it is for safety. Keep it off the floor). May have a halo bar, keep it vertical and connect right behind the driver/passenger seat.
5. Seat belts must be worn by the driver.
6. Fuel tank must be relocated to the floor of the back seat area and must be covered. Metal tank only, no plastic tanks allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS.
7. All drivers must wear approved protective helmets.
8. Batteries must be moved inside the vehicle and must be secured and covered. Batteries must be secured with metal straps or brackets; No bungee cords or tarp straps allowed. Do not cover battery with carpet.
9. Any tire and rim combination may be used as long as it follows these parameters. Small and full weld in centers are fine. Stuffed or foam filled tires are ok. May have inside bead locks. NO OUTSIDE BEAD LOCKS OR REINFORCEMENT OF ANY KIND ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE RIM. No split rims.
10. Radiators must be in original position or removed. No auxiliary cooling systems allowed. Only water may be used as a coolant.
11. Trunk lids and hoods may be secured by up to six bolts in each or four chains in each; chains or wires not to exceed 24” long. You may have two threaded rods no larger than ¾” bolted to the frame through the radiator support and the hood with two square or round washers no larger than four inch diameter.
12. Fenders and bumpers may be trimmed with a torch, but fenders may not be bent and bolted back to themselves. All chrome and decorative ornaments must be removed from the vehicle. Impact bumpers may be welded in position, or chained.
13. Door Chains- You are allowed 6 chains per side of the car, one per side may go around the frame. This goes for all cars, 2 or 4 door. Drivers’ door may be welded shut.
14. A hole must be cut in the hood; hole not less than 10” in diameter. NO EXCEPTIONS.
15. Rear-end may be welded for posi-traction; suspensions must remain stock.
16. Vehicles may be decorated in any manner within the limits of good taste. No obscenity will be allowed. Driver number must be on the driver’s door and in a second clearly visible location.
17. Vehicle inspection by the Derby Promoter will be made after sign-up. Discrepancies must be corrected at the direction of the Derby Promoter, entries not passing inspection will be dismissed from competition and entry fee refunded.
18. Fuel lines must be attached with metal clamps, no tape. (ie. hose clamps)
19. Tranny coolers are allowed.
20. May remove any body mounts & replace with ¾” threaded rod (no adding extra body mounts)
21. Any automotive bumper may be used. May be seam welded and have 2 separate ¼ plate steal pads welded to the bumper backing for mounting purposes only. These pads will not exceed the dimensions of 7 inches by 10 inches. No stuffed bumpers.
22. 4x4x1/4 square tubing may be used instead of an automotive bumper. NO homemade beaks. Tubing may have and arch or point of 3 inches or less. Ends must remain uncapped for inspection.

proof tank. Fuel lines must be attached with metal-type clamps; no duct tape, electrical tape, etc. Fuel tank must be mounted in the rear box area and secured to the frame and covered.

You may also have one piece of angle iron, maximum of 3”x3”x1/4” 24” long, bolted or welded from the center of the tail gate to the box. NO WEDGING.
13. All doors must be chained or wired; chains or wires not to exceed 24”in length. Welding of steel plates /straps (3” maximum width) to sides of box to the cab acceptable. Drivers door may be welded shut.
14. Any tire and rim combination may be used as long as it follows these parameters. Small and full weld in centers are fine. Stuffed or foam filled tires are ok. May have inside bead locks. NO OUTSIDE BEAD LOCKS OR REINFORCEMENT OF ANY KIND ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE RIM. No split rims.
15. A hole must be cut in center of the hood; at least 10” in diameter. NO EXCEPTIONS.

22. May have a gas tank flat plate 16” x 48”. Can be bolted to frame with only 2 bolts. This rule has been changed to the same as stock trucks.
23. Vehicle must have box and may be secured to the frame with a max of 6 locations using 3/4 inch bolts with 6 inch washers on top side of the box. No welding bolts or threaded rod to the frame. You must drill or torch holes through the frame. This rule has been changed to the same as stock trucks in regards to bed plates.
24. Pinion brake allowed, NO ADDITIONAL BRACING TO REINFORCE REAREND HOUSING!! We are allowing this for ease of gaining functional brakes, not to reinforce your rearend housing.
STOCK Pick-up and suburban rules:
1. All drivers under age 18 must have parent or legal guardian present at sign-up or have a consent form signed by parent/legal guardian.
2. No vans allowed.
3. All glass must be removed; including in bottoms of doors.
4. Seat belt must be worn by driver; and must be secured to the frame of the vehicle.
5. All drivers must wear approved protective helmet.
6. All original fuel tanks must be removed. Fuel must be in a metal/ marine-type spill proof tank. Fuel lines must be attached with metal-type clamps; no duct tape, electrical tape, etc. Fuel tank must be mounted in the rear box area and secured to the frame and covered.
7. No reinforcement of any kind allowed frame or body; Driver’s door may be reinforced or welded in place. May have a 4 point floating cage. 26. Stock steering systems only and no re-enforcing tie rods.
27. May have a gas tank flat plate 16” x 48”. Can be bolted to frame with only 2 bolts.
28. Pinion brake allowed, NO ADDITIONAL BRACING TO REINFORCE REAREND HOUSING!! We are allowing this for ease of gaining functional brakes, not to reinforce your rearend housing.
Bone stock Chain & Bang (any year) and Powder Puff (any year) Rules:
Bring repair parts for fixing after heats and consolation. The number of cars taken from each heat will be based off of car count during the drivers meeting. Pre-ran cars will not get any type of fix it plates or repairs of any kind. Unlimited 9 wire repair after heats.

2. Any tire and rim combination may be used as long as it follows these parameters. Small and full weld in centers are fine. Stuffed or foam filled tires are ok. May have inside bead locks. NO OUTSIDE BEAD LOCKS OR REINFORCEMENT OF ANY KIND ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE RIM. No split rims.

7. Gas tank protectors are allowed. Must be built off of your seat bar and remain 6 inches away from package tray / any sheet metal to include the floor. Must remain centered in the back seat area and be no wider than 24 inches. You may have a gas tank Halo built on the back of the gas tank protector to ensure sheet metal does not contact the gas tank. This halo will be a maximum of 12 inches tall. If you choose not to use a tubing gas tank protector you may have a 24”x10” plate bolted to the floor with 4 bolts and your gas tank mounted to that. USE ONE METHOD OR THE OTHER. NOT BOTH!!!

10. Bumper mounting:
-You may hardnose your bumper and leave factory shocks in place. If your car did not come with shocks do not add them. Frames may be shortened to within 1 inch of the front core support mount. Do not cut off and move the core support mount or you will be loaded.
-You may compress and weld shocks. SHOCKS WILL REMAIN IN THE FACTORY LOCATION AND MUST BE FACTORY FOR THAT MAKE AND MODEL.
-You may weld one 3x6x1/4 inch plate per frame rail. This will be welded from your bumper to any one side of the frame rail you choose.
-You may also weld any factory bracket up to 6 inches from the front of the frame. If your factory bracket is longer than 6 inches do not weld farther that 6 inches (we will measure and make you torch a large area to ensure it is not welded if you push the rules).
11. Batteries must be placed in cab area; and must be secured and covered. Batteries must be secured by chain, metal straps or bracket; no bungee cords or tarp straps allowed. Do not cover battery with carpet. Maximum of 2 12 volt batteries per car. You may use a battery plate secured to the floor with no more than 4 bolts and the plate will be within 2 inches of the size of the battery. This is so we do not have plates that cover the entire floor resulting in reinforcement.
12. Hood and trunk may be chained shut with up to 6 chains. Wagons may have 4 chains holding the tailgate on.
13. Door Chains- You are allowed 6 chains per side of the car, one per side may go around the frame. This goes for all cars, 2 or 4 door. Drivers’ door may be welded shut.
14. You can run any drive train combination, but no braced up built rear ends. No bolt on protection allowed for example: Engine cradles, distributor protector, tranny braces or aftermarket bell housings to name a few.
15. You must have factory style engine mounts. For example: If you have a chevy engine you must use factory chevy cups on the engine and factory rubber mounts on the engine cross member which can be welded to the cross member. You may also have 1 3/8” chain per side to hold the engine in place. This chain will be welded or bolted to any place you choose on the engine that is lower than the headers to the factory engine cross member. Only one link will be bolted or welded at either end.
16. 03 and newer fords can mount your motor by using 1 steel plate per side. Use existing 2 vertical bolts on frame and run plate angled to aluminum cradle. To this plate you may weld your motor mounts to. This plate is not to reinforce frame, simply to be able to safely weld/mount your motor in. Size should be no larger than 12" x 12" plate per side. These plates CANNOT connect to each other under the motor. DO NOT GO OVERBOARD.
17. Slider drive shafts are allowed.
18. Any rearend may be used. NO BRACEING OF ANY KIND!!! You may weld on trailing arm brackets / ears and leaf spring perches for mounting purposes only. If the inspector says cut it off do not argue.
19. Pinion brake allowed, NO ADDITIONAL BRACING TO REINFORCE REAREND HOUSING!! We are allowing this for ease of gaining functional brakes, not to reinforce your rearend housing.
20. 98-Newer fords must run factory watts link suspension, no exceptions
21. No reinforcing of trailing arms. Must remain stock.
22. Body mounts must not be altered, they must be left as factory with rubber bushings still intact. No adding extra body mounts. No replacing body bolts period! If one is missing, that is how you will run it.
23. Stock steering systems only and no re-enforcing tie rods.
-03 & Newer fords must run stock aluminum cradle and factory (03 and newer) rack and pinion
-No bolt on adaptor plates for steering boxes.
-A-arm / spindle swaps are fine. Must be from any car that qualifies for this class. No truck parts!
-Direct OEM bolt-on ball joints and tie rod ends are fine. No aftermarket ball joints or tie rods (to name a few but not limited to Joker, Wicked) If you have question call first or don’t complain when the inspector says to go to that parts store and change them.
24. May pre-bend car and tuck trunk lid, 50% of trunk lid must remain in factory position and left on hinges. You may have holes torched for chains prior to inspection but trunk lid will remain open until after inspection.
25. No body seams at all. This includes preran cars. If you have a body seam you will be asked to pound it out until the inspector deems it is ok. If you do not want to or cannot pound it out you will cut the entire body seam out. This is not negotiable.
-if you get through inspection the first time with no modifications necessary you will get 6 swings of the maul provided (if you swing and miss that still counts as a swing).
-If you get through on your second time through inspection you will get 4 swings of the maul provided.
-If you get through the third time through inspection……congrats you get to run and no swings of the maul!!!
-If you don’t get through on the third attempt you will be loaded with no chance of running so don’t ask.
26. May notch or dimple the rear frame rails but must not weld the notch back together. Cannot tilt/tip the frame in the front, must leave as factory.
27. No frame shaping or heat / cold treating frames.
28. The only welding allowed is the bumpers to the frame. Can weld the motor mounts and tranny cross member.
29. No reinforcement of any kind allowed frame or body; May have a 4 point floating cage. This consists of a dash bar, seat bar, and a door bar on each side. No down bars to the floor. This is not to reinforce car, it is for safety. Keep it off the floor at least 6 inches. May have a halo bar, keep it vertical and connect right behind the driver/passenger seat. You may bolt the halo bar to the roof using 2 bolts using washers no bigger than 4 inches.
30. Must have something going from the roof to the fire wall for driver protection. This can be as easy as a chain or a maximum of two 3inch by 1/4inch straps and can be connected at the bottom by the firewall.
31. May run bolt on shifters thru the floor, and cut a hole in the fire wall for distributor clearance.
32. May chain or weld a-arms down (2 passenger side, 2 driver side). The only welding allowed is one chain link to the side of the spring pocket and one chain link to the a-arm (3/8 chain) or welding a 2x2x1/8 metal strap from the a arm to the spring pocket.
33. Cars that came with leaf springs will have no more than 9 leafs. Only factory leaf clamps allowed. No homemade replacements
34. No Imperials or Chrysler products with Imperial sub frames allowed.
35. You may have a maximum of a 3 inch long core support spacer between the stock core support mount and the core support. Spacer will be made of 2 inch wide square or round material maximum. This spacer must be free floating and can be held in place by having a ½ inch bolt or all thread running through it with washers on either end. This bolt will not be extended through the top of the core support. NO WELDING OF ANY KIND.

17. Starting time on Saturday night is 7:30 p.m. Registration will be held 3 hours prior to
show time.
18. In order to have enough parking space for spectators we ask that Demo participants have only one vehicle in the area. Please park trailers and additional vehicles in designated areas.
19. No reserved seating space will be allowed. Blankets will be removed when the bleachers are cleared before admission tickets are sold.
20. Valve stem protectors will be allowed.
21. Protective eye wear is required.
22. Cable shifters, floor mounted brake pedals and gas pedals are allowed in any class. DO NOT ABUSE THIS! Mounting plates must be kept within reason and not structurally reinforce the car.
23. Just because it doesn’t say something in the rules, doesn’t mean you can do it. We don’t want to not let anyone run, call and ask don’t over build and get turned away.
24. Pinion brakes are allowed in all classes, stock classes are not allowed to use this to reinforce rearend housing (Needs to be simple and only used for the purpose of brakes).
These rules are designed to insure the continued safety of the Demo Derby participants, promoters and spectators. Thank you for your continued cooperation.
Light/Compact Cars Rules:
1. All drivers under age 18 must have parent or legal guardian present at sign-up or have a consent form signed by parent or legal guardian.
2. Light cars must have a maximum 113” wheel base if front wheel drive and maximum 109” if rear wheel drive. Light cars no full frames or v8 engines.
3. All glass must be removed; including in bottoms of doors.
4. No reinforcement of any kind allowed frame or body; Driver’s door may be reinforced or welded in place. May have a 4 point floating cage. (This consists of a dash bar, seat bar, and a door bar on each side. This is not to reinforce car, it is for safety. Keep it off the floor). May have a halo bar, keep it vertical and connect right behind the driver/passenger seat.
5. Seat belts must be worn by the driver.
6. Fuel tank must be relocated to the floor of the back seat area and must be covered. Metal tank only, no plastic tanks allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS.
7. All drivers must wear approved protective helmets.
8. Batteries must be moved inside the vehicle and must be secured and covered. Batteries must be secured with metal straps or brackets; No bungee cords or tarp straps allowed. Do not cover battery with carpet.
9. Any tire and rim combination may be used as long as it follows these parameters. Small and full weld in centers are fine. Stuffed or foam filled tires are ok. May have inside bead locks. NO OUTSIDE BEAD LOCKS OR REINFORCEMENT OF ANY KIND ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE RIM. No split rims.
10. Radiators must be in original position or removed. No auxiliary cooling systems allowed. Only water may be used as a coolant.
11. Trunk lids and hoods may be secured by up to six bolts in each or four chains in each; chains or wires not to exceed 24” long. You may have two threaded rods no larger than ¾” bolted to the frame through the radiator support and the hood with two square or round washers no larger than four inch diameter.
12. Fenders and bumpers may be trimmed with a torch, but fenders may not be bent and bolted back to themselves. All chrome and decorative ornaments must be removed from the vehicle. Impact bumpers may be welded in position, or chained.
13. Door Chains- You are allowed 6 chains per side of the car, one per side may go around the frame. This goes for all cars, 2 or 4 door. Drivers’ door may be welded shut.
14. A hole must be cut in the hood; hole not less than 10” in diameter. NO EXCEPTIONS.
15. Rear-end may be welded for posi-traction; suspensions must remain stock.
16. Vehicles may be decorated in any manner within the limits of good taste. No obscenity will be allowed. Driver number must be on the driver’s door and in a second clearly visible location.
17. Vehicle inspection by the Derby Promoter will be made after sign-up. Discrepancies must be corrected at the direction of the Derby Promoter, entries not passing inspection will be dismissed from competition and entry fee refunded.
18. Fuel lines must be attached with metal clamps, no tape. (ie. hose clamps)
19. Tranny coolers are allowed.
20. May remove any body mounts & replace with ¾” threaded rod (no adding extra body mounts)
21. Any automotive bumper may be used. May be seam welded and have 2 separate ¼ plate steal pads welded to the bumper backing for mounting purposes only. These pads will not exceed the dimensions of 7 inches by 10 inches. No stuffed bumpers.
22. 4x4x1/4 square tubing may be used instead of an automotive bumper. NO homemade beaks. Tubing may have and arch or point of 3 inches or less. Ends must remain uncapped for inspection.

Small pick-ups / SUV & Mini Van Rules.

proof tank. Fuel lines must be attached with metal-type clamps; no duct tape, electrical tape, etc. Fuel tank must be mounted in the rear box area and secured to the frame and covered.
7. No reinforcement of any kind allowed frame or body; Driver’s door may be reinforced or welded in place. May have a 4 point floating cage. 12. Vehicle must have a tailgate, in stock location and vertical. Only stock tailgates allowed and must be welded in place or chained with a maximum of 24”length of chain; four chains allowed This must be done on the vertical portion of the tailgate to the box. You may also have one piece of angle iron, maximum of 3”x3”x1/4” 24” long, bolted or welded from the center of the tail gate to the box. NO WEDGING.
13. All doors must be chained or wired; chains or wires not to exceed 24”in length. Welding of steel plates /straps (3” maximum width) to sides of box to the cab acceptable. Drivers door may be welded shut.
14. Any tire and rim combination may be used as long as it follows these parameters. Small and full weld in centers are fine. Stuffed or foam filled tires are ok. May have inside bead locks. NO OUTSIDE BEAD LOCKS OR REINFORCEMENT OF ANY KIND ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE RIM. No split rims.

23. Vehicle must have box and may be secured to the frame with a max of 6 locations using 3/4 inch bolts with 6 inch washers on top side of the box. No welding bolts or threaded rod to the frame. You must drill or torch holes through the frame. This rule has been changed to the same as stock trucks in regards to bed plates.
24. Pinion brake allowed, NO ADDITIONAL BRACING TO REINFORCE REAREND HOUSING!! We are allowing this for ease of gaining functional brakes, not to reinforce your rearend housing.

6. All original fuel tanks must be removed. Fuel must be in a metal/ marine-type spill proof tank. Fuel lines must be attached with metal-type clamps; no duct tape, electrical tape, etc. Fuel tank must be mounted in the rear box area and secured to the frame and covered.

Bone stock Chain & Bang (any year) and Powder Puff (any year) Rules:
Bring repair parts for fixing after heats and consolation. The number of cars taken from each heat will be based off of car count during the drivers meeting. Pre-ran cars will not get any type of fix it plates or repairs of any kind. Unlimited 9 wire repair after heats.

2. Any tire and rim combination may be used as long as it follows these parameters. Small and full weld in centers are fine. Stuffed or foam filled tires are ok. May have inside bead locks. NO OUTSIDE BEAD LOCKS OR REINFORCEMENT OF ANY KIND ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE RIM. No split rims.

7. Gas tank protectors are allowed. Must be built off of your seat bar and remain 6 inches away from package tray / any sheet metal to include the floor. Must remain centered in the back seat area and be no wider than 24 inches. You may have a gas tank Halo built on the back of the gas tank protector to ensure sheet metal does not contact the gas tank. This halo will be a maximum of 12 inches tall. If you choose not to use a tubing gas tank protector you may have a 24”x10” plate bolted to the floor with 4 bolts and your gas tank mounted to that. USE ONE METHOD OR THE OTHER. NOT BOTH!!!

10. Bumper mounting:
-You may hardnose your bumper and leave factory shocks in place. If your car did not come with shocks do not add them. Frames may be shortened to within 1 inch of the front core support mount. Do not cut off and move the core support mount or you will be loaded.
-You may compress and weld shocks. SHOCKS WILL REMAIN IN THE FACTORY LOCATION AND MUST BE FACTORY FOR THAT MAKE AND MODEL.
-You may weld one 3x6x1/4 inch plate per frame rail. This will be welded from your bumper to any one side of the frame rail you choose.
-You may also weld any factory bracket up to 6 inches from the front of the frame. If your factory bracket is longer than 6 inches do not weld farther that 6 inches (we will measure and make you torch a large area to ensure it is not welded if you push the rules).
11. Batteries must be placed in cab area; and must be secured and covered. Batteries must be secured by chain, metal straps or bracket; no bungee cords or tarp straps allowed. Do not cover battery with carpet. Maximum of 2 12 volt batteries per car. You may use a battery plate secured to the floor with no more than 4 bolts and the plate will be within 2 inches of the size of the battery. This is so we do not have plates that cover the entire floor resulting in reinforcement.
12. Hood and trunk may be chained shut with up to 6 chains. Wagons may have 4 chains holding the tailgate on.
13. Door Chains- You are allowed 6 chains per side of the car, one per side may go around the frame. This goes for all cars, 2 or 4 door. Drivers’ door may be welded shut.
14. You can run any drive train combination, but no braced up built rear ends. No bolt on protection allowed for example: Engine cradles, distributor protector, tranny braces or aftermarket bell housings to name a few.
15. You must have factory style engine mounts. For example: If you have a chevy engine you must use factory chevy cups on the engine and factory rubber mounts on the engine cross member which can be welded to the cross member. You may also have 1 3/8” chain per side to hold the engine in place. This chain will be welded or bolted to any place you choose on the engine that is lower than the headers to the factory engine cross member. Only one link will be bolted or welded at either end.
16. 03 and newer fords can mount your motor by using 1 steel plate per side. Use existing 2 vertical bolts on frame and run plate angled to aluminum cradle. To this plate you may weld your motor mounts to. This plate is not to reinforce frame, simply to be able to safely weld/mount your motor in. Size should be no larger than 12" x 12" plate per side. These plates CANNOT connect to each other under the motor. DO NOT GO OVERBOARD.
17. Slider drive shafts are allowed.
18. Any rearend may be used. NO BRACEING OF ANY KIND!!! You may weld on trailing arm brackets / ears and leaf spring perches for mounting purposes only. If the inspector says cut it off do not argue.
19. Pinion brake allowed, NO ADDITIONAL BRACING TO REINFORCE REAREND HOUSING!! We are allowing this for ease of gaining functional brakes, not to reinforce your rearend housing.
20. 98-Newer fords must run factory watts link suspension, no exceptions
21. No reinforcing of trailing arms. Must remain stock.
22. Body mounts must not be altered, they must be left as factory with rubber bushings still intact. No adding extra body mounts. No replacing body bolts period! If one is missing, that is how you will run it.
23. Stock steering systems only and no re-enforcing tie rods.
-03 & Newer fords must run stock aluminum cradle and factory (03 and newer) rack and pinion
-No bolt on adaptor plates for steering boxes.
-A-arm / spindle swaps are fine. Must be from any car that qualifies for this class. No truck parts!
-Direct OEM bolt-on ball joints and tie rod ends are fine. No aftermarket ball joints or tie rods (to name a few but not limited to Joker, Wicked) If you have question call first or don’t complain when the inspector says to go to that parts store and change them.
24. May pre-bend car and tuck trunk lid, 50% of trunk lid must remain in factory position and left on hinges. You may have holes torched for chains prior to inspection but trunk lid will remain open until after inspection.
25. No body seams at all. This includes preran cars. If you have a body seam you will be asked to pound it out until the inspector deems it is ok. If you do not want to or cannot pound it out you will cut the entire body seam out. This is not negotiable.
-if you get through inspection the first time with no modifications necessary you will get 6 swings of the maul provided (if you swing and miss that still counts as a swing).
-If you get through on your second time through inspection you will get 4 swings of the maul provided.
-If you get through the third time through inspection……congrats you get to run and no swings of the maul!!!
-If you don’t get through on the third attempt you will be loaded with no chance of running so don’t ask.
26. May notch or dimple the rear frame rails but must not weld the notch back together. Cannot tilt/tip the frame in the front, must leave as factory.
27. No frame shaping or heat / cold treating frames.
28. The only welding allowed is the bumpers to the frame. Can weld the motor mounts and tranny cross member.
29. No reinforcement of any kind allowed frame or body; May have a 4 point floating cage. This consists of a dash bar, seat bar, and a door bar on each side. No down bars to the floor. This is not to reinforce car, it is for safety. Keep it off the floor at least 6 inches. May have a halo bar, keep it vertical and connect right behind the driver/passenger seat. You may bolt the halo bar to the roof using 2 bolts using washers no bigger than 4 inches.
30. Must have something going from the roof to the fire wall for driver protection. This can be as easy as a chain or a maximum of two 3inch by 1/4inch straps and can be connected at the bottom by the firewall.
31. May run bolt on shifters thru the floor, and cut a hole in the fire wall for distributor clearance.
32. May chain or weld a-arms down (2 passenger side, 2 driver side). The only welding allowed is one chain link to the side of the spring pocket and one chain link to the a-arm (3/8 chain) or welding a 2x2x1/8 metal strap from the a arm to the spring pocket.
33. Cars that came with leaf springs will have no more than 9 leafs. Only factory leaf clamps allowed. No homemade replacements
34. No Imperials or Chrysler products with Imperial sub frames allowed.
35. You may have a maximum of a 3 inch long core support spacer between the stock core support mount and the core support. Spacer will be made of 2 inch wide square or round material maximum. This spacer must be free floating and can be held in place by having a ½ inch bolt or all thread running through it with washers on either end. This bolt will not be extended through the top of the core support. NO WELDING OF ANY KIND.
