You might want to start out with a less complicated and difficult build than a pro mod. JMO

Well thanks for your opinion, but I would rather give it a try with a car such as one I have to try it first, learn some things before I go at it with any of my older iron... This is all trial and error for me. I wouldn't call it pro mod really just more of a full weld car. I'm just looking for some pointers to be competitive. But at the same time I'm out their to wreck cars and have fun just like anyone else... I've been building cars for little over six years now and I do ok for what I bring to stock shows. I wanna try something different. So any help any of you guys can give me would be appreciated

You asked "what is tilting"? The question was asked and answered on the very same page that you asked. So the best advice I can give is start reading. And do lots of reading. There is tons of useful information already posted on this site. The fact that you can type in complete sentences with some attempt at proper English already puts you way ahead of most newbees on here. There are allot of very helpful people on this site but people on here typically wont take you serious if you don't read first. JMO

If you are willing to read and have gained the knowledge to ask a specific question I will pretty much answer anything to the best of my knowledge.
All im gonna say is with the body off study the frame, and get friendly with a level. From experience old iron GMs benefit from tilting.

Thank you I have read through this particular topic, yet no one has just out and said this is how I do it. And if it was said, I don't understand what they are saying. Like I said before its a new build for me. No experience in this stuff. I do everything by myself rarely ask for help on anything either because of my hard head and determination to figure things out on my own. I guess it will just take more reading else ware till I get the answer I need thanks for your input noser

^^ look up youtube videos on tilting if you don't understand what people are saying. You could also look in the ford section and read about tilting there. Different cars, but same concept... Wow... I can't believe I didn't think of that. Lol well I feel like a horses a$$ yes that's what I will do thanks for your input

With the way cars are being built these days the term tilting is a lot different than it was when vic were being tilted at the boxes by cutting and rewelding. Tilting isn't just cutting and pulling down or heating and letting it sag anymore.....

Have a 76 pontiac catalina And was wanting some opinions. Ive read alot of them already but it seems to be 50/50 on being beneficial or not. But I was thinking of cutting a pie slice out right in front of the body mounts under the firewall, and bringing it down. Then cutting another one at the other end of the "s" curves but bringing it up. That way it levels the "s" curve portion a little, along with leveling the rails. Cant plate frames but already got the ok for that if I decided to do it. Can shorten the horns but must leave factory eye hole. And will be using the factory bumper brackets, with a flat loaded bumper. Any opinions or advice? Thanks in advance.

Your on the right track, take your time, make sure you keep a level handy. As to where to do it just study the frame, the places to do it comes out looking at it enough.
