Ran straight 110 in my 351m on Saturday, I did a double roller timing chain and set it 4° advanced, HEI distributer, ditched the EGR plate and put on a carb spacer and new autolite 24s and wires. Motor ran great. Started every time. To each his own I guess but I get the 110 for free so might as well run it.

Built 283 with 19.3cc dome pistions .039 head gaskets 64cc heads 11.43:1 cr. E85 fuel cheaper than race fuel cooler running than race fuel not corrosive like alky easier to tune if u run a holly 4412 carb theres a kit u can buy that's $155 with metering block jets gaskets. Then a holly black pump with pressure regulator around 10-12 psi and 84ish jets. Around $450 for the setup. Still run a 3/8 fuel line. Miller if ur motors are just stock its not goin to make a big difference with alky e85 race fuel. It all depends on ur compression if running alky its best to have forged pistons.

The setup is cheaper than alky and runs as cool. The problem is tuning! always chasing the air temp. Its the opposite of gas the hotter it is outside the less fuel the colder it is more fuel. Also likes more timing. One thing to watch out for at this time of the year is the winter blend E60 stations switch so its even more important to check it to make sure its E85.

Junk, u get what u pay for typically. Think I paid about 60$ for the last one. Wondering about a Holley though. How much power drain ? And perhaps I should go with a blue ? And a pressure regulator. Depending on if they will allow a fuel injected compact run here... They need to get with the times

The older ones were decent but it's just like a loaf of bread nowdays. they keep the price the same and make the loaf smaller.Or in this case Quality.I'm refering to the ebay link style you posted not the holley ones.

Yea I was kinda iffy on that myself... Guess for the cost of the rod and stuff to build a compettitive car here i better not scrimp lol. I just did what I was trying to avoid. I asked the guy with the derby I'm gonna run about compacts and fuel injection... They are not stupid and will now know I'm gonna show up with old iron....

What are some of the ways that have worked well in converting a keg into a fuel cell. I have seen where they have been laid on their side with an outlet on the bottom and a fill opening at the top. Then I have also saw where someone has stood one up straight up and down and used the center as the fill hole and drilled a hole at the top and put a line going down to the bottom of the tank. Just curious as to what has worked for the ones of you have ran with kegs as a fuel cell. I have a short 7.5 gallon tank and a 15 gallon tank.

Unless you have some work done to your motor, race fuel does not help. Your just wasting money. 91 octane pure gasoline works great. A stock motor actually has a harder time burning high octane race fuel.

May have told my experience before but here goes. Ran street stock on asphalt back in the day with 91 octane. Did this for about a month. 350, mild cam, double hump heads and a q-jet. That's it, pretty stock. Dumped in vp fuel one night and there was definitely a noticeable difference. Took a few tenths off lap times and much more snappy. Ran it for 3 more years. Later, had a 1/2 ton chevy with a stock 350. Ran it in a spectator drags at a smaller asphalt track. Put vp in it on the way there and the truck has never ran stronger. Definitely will make a difference but is it worth it in a stock derby car? I don't think so but you will without a doubt notice a difference.

slacker 73 i run vp 113 Q in my 355 solid roller and its great! of course we built this engine knowing the compression and what fuel we was going to try. this setup we built, yes runs cool! when you go to run fuel like this and get the most out of it or any race fuel is having you engine dynoed. by just trying 5gal. or little here or there dont work. this fuel takes carb adj. dist timing, etc.. iv'e had mine dynoed not to see numbers as much but tune it. Overkill for derbing? lol maybe but if dailed in prop. it's sweet! oh around 14+ a gal.

Does anyone cool their fuel? Kind of like a tranny cooler? Coil some tubing up in a box and add ice?
