The only thing I have experimented with is alcohol. There are different reasons for types of fuel and octane ratings, you need to research what will work best for your set up.

^^^^^Agreed and alcohol is a whole different animal...i run a 110/alcohol mixture and it was a pain to get correct

do some research like stated. Not every engine is the same in what fuel need it has. Do to high compression and other engine modifications some engines need a leaded 100+ octane to even run. Other engines need 87 octane. Engines that run off alcohol most the time need a lube, scent, and color additive added to the fuel. Research may be a pain in the neck to do but figure out what you have engine wise and use a additive wisely, and some of it is trial and error.

Keep in mind that those "octane boosters" that claim to raise your rating 7 points, are only raising from 91.0 to 91.7 octane. Pretty worthless IMO, you can buy 110 at $8/gal right from the pump and mix 50/50 and come out way ahead

Remember its octane boost not power boost.

110 is a waste of money unless your pushing some ponies.

Ok say if your running a stock 307/350 or 302 is there a better fuel mix to run or should I just run 89 octane I think the most I can get pump wise around here is 93 would I see any gains from it? The only things I can do with my budget is throw a cam in and a distributer and occasionally an intake and carb but pockets arent to deep being 17 haha

110 is a waste of money unless your pushing some ponies. That's a load of bull! There is other benefits to running race fuel than just higher octane.

Unless you running over 11:1 comp I wouldn't run 110 anyways.

I am not a pro on fuel but i can say that if you run racing fuel, not an additive, to even a stock engine you will notice a difference. Now is it worth the cost if not needed, absolutely not. For me its just descent fuel and some quality 2 cycle oil added for upper end lubricant when things get hot. Dont over-think stuff.

I have a 360 bored .060 over with 12:1 Keith black pistons, scat H-beam rods and crank, isky .564 lift cam roller lifters and roller rockers cranking about 450 horse running on 110 and I have to say that with that combo I never run out of power and it takes about 25 minutes flat on the floor board before she starts to steam. And she never quits.
