Are all 8.8 rear flanges the same? I have a slider that was used last year. The bolts for the flange went right thru the slider flange. This year, when I went to bolt it up, the bolts for the 8.8 flange won't go thru the slider flange. I have several flanges. Some with 4 holes and some with 8 holes. Are the holes all the same bolt size on the flange with 8 bolt holes? This is kinda messing me up. Why would it work last year and not this year. Both cars are fords. Last year was a CV this year is a Marquis. Any help? Thanks

worse then runnin a 10 bolt bia.... the 28 spline axles taper off real fast.. while a 31 spline 9" has a solid axles with very little taper and an overall larger diameter axle.... 10 bolts are alot easier to open the back up to fix... on a 9" you have to pull the whole 3rd member out... !... any specific question feel free to ask Do u need the shims in the rear or a 9inch when u mini spool it?

Anybody know, does a 9" out of a sui bolt right up to an edsel or are the brackets different distances apart?

Which you can use a 9 inch center section in. Then just high horse muscle cars was the others. Normal production was all 28s in cars. Four wheel drive trucks in the 70s and early 80s had 31s and some vans and two wheel drive trucks. 80-82 F100s had small bolt pattern 31 spline axles. This is from experience tearing apart hundreds of rear to sell housing and center sections.

Whats the story on 8.8 hybrid axles? Can i just take a 8.8 vic axle and put 31 spline explorer axles and explorer carrier in it or is there more modifications involved?

The explorer axles aren't the right length. Full size truck is actually close, but haven't tried them yet. Best way to build an 8.8 is nerat ends and a set of bolt in axles.

I keep breaking the 8.8 axles off at the flange. Are the 8" axleshafts any stronger there? Or the 9"? There is an 8" available reasonably close but if I'm still going to break at the flanges I'm not going to waste my time. Axle savers are not an option where I run.
