Its a Saginaw and when you say big belly i guess u mean the bottom of the trans is pouched out. Yea I have two of those one is a zero grove the other is a 3 grove

Well I don't need second or third gear plus a guy around here ran two of them and it kept locking up it up because of 2-3 gear. And I've heard people taking them out What model do you run? I,ve scattered all sorts of saginaws. I prefer the 70,s model big belly heavy-half truck trannys over the light duty late 60,s 3speeds. I have a light duty in my lincoln n it likes to jump gears. The hd truck in my old iron buick doesn,t. I blew one of those big bellied ones to pieces last month.

Has anyone done any experimenting with a direct clutch style coupling, similar to what is used in circle track racing. I know ram makes one just wondered if they would meet the demand of our sport.

If you killed it you be screwed. Generally when you see a circle track spin out and the car dies something has to rock them back and forth for them to get the car out of the gear they're in.

What happened? Main shaft bearings explode? Scyncro weights come flying apart? These are the only two issues i,ve had with these.

Ya take the lever off of 2-3 shift rod. There's your removal.
