With time work chop saw torch welder a pile of metal and some fabrication skills any car can be a good derby car. Just depends on how much you wanna put into it and if your rules allow. But who really looks at rules anymore anyway just bring a full set of bottles with you to the track lol

They are junk, and i disagree dan. Why would you take a car that is considerably worse than another and put hundreds of hours of work into it, when you can take a better car and put less work and time into it and make it better than these ever thought about being?

I guess that all depends on what you've got. If its all you got run it and have fun doing it. I have one if these cars. A 65 merc. The fronts frame horns are shaped just like the earlier more desirable years the metal is just a little thinner and there are a couple gaps where it comes together at the a arm on the top and the bottom. They are full box frame from the front crush box to the rear and c channel from the body mount just behind the hump back.address those few areas weld a decent bumper bracket and bumper up front and a well engineered cage that ties it all together and you could have a decent car. You may not drive thru an imperial but it would be fun. Besides the build is half the fun anyway. I say if its all you got or All you can get then get it put some work in it and go have fun. Besides all those ford cars are a shitload of work anyway.

Found a CLEAN '67 Mercury Colony Park wagon. I'm sure it's not a great derby car, but is it worth anything as a collector? Trying to find the owner to talk to him about it

Im going be running a 69 ltd and gonna box in the c channel and do my best to get the rear to compact when hit. What should I do with the trunk floor it seems deep, should I bring it up and make the floor level or just leave it alone?

I've run a couple around that year. I never did anything to the trunk bottom. Just pre-bent the trunk/fenders about half way up the trunk. They rolled up pretty nice. But I could have been lucky. If you're going to run the rear coil springs, I'd weld, clamp or wire the top and bottom of them.

I got a 71 continental the other day and I was wondering if it is a good car? And if anybody has any tips I'm used to running 80s model Chevy four doors.
