So the sidewinders don't look like they have very deep traction lugs? How well do these work on a pretty wet track? And I'm running a 79 thunder chicken this year, with whatever rear is in it and welded spider gears, would you guys recommend 14s?

Ok I have been tossing around the idea of trying to fill a small set of steer tires with concrete and screwing the tires to the rim. They are little 12" v treads. They don't have much tread left so I'm not going to pay $60 each to foam fill them and I haven't come across a tire to stuff inside of them either. I'm not worried about the weight either. They would be going on a promod truck. I have a pretty good idea in my head of how to fill the tire without any voids. Any body ever try this before or seen it done before? Maybe even bend a couple pieces of rebar in a circle and slip them into the tire to help hold it together too.

Sounds heavy and like an axle breaker to me, I wouldn't know never tried it, to each their own, if the tires are old I would think you would be better off throwing a tube in them and going for shit. If you pop a tire you are not out much, axles and other drive train parts on the other hand a little more expensive to replace

I'm not worried about the axle. Its a beefed up 4x4 steer axle. I'm just wondering if the concrete inside the tire will break apart. And how easy will it.

What about drive line and tranny? You can drive on a flat but not without a driveline.. The concrete I would think would break but its all in a tire and not going to go anywhere.

Its not a drive wheel. All it has to do is roll. My motor and trans is strong.

Being that they are on 12" i would buy some cans of the tuff stuff foam and try that before concrete. If i was going to try the concrete i would weld steel from the inside middle of the rim out to were it is in the middle of the side wall all around the wheel. Then take re-bar and circle around the rim and weld to each piece of steel welded to the middle center of the rim. You will need something to hold the concrete together. Just make sure you don't go to big with it so you can still get the tire on over it. Then fill with concrete and vibrate it real good.
