Has anyone ever flipped a shocker trunk lid and welded it in upside down? I do this on my 71-76 gms and it works great! Just curious if this same theory would work. Just looking for some feedback, I'm going to do it on a 76 Monaco.

Who can post pictures? I can't get mine to load You need to downsize the picture to almost nil in order to upload to proboards, its just not worth the effort, you are much better off to -create a photobucket account -upload your pics to photobucket -then create a post here -right-click your image at photobucket -choose "copy image url" -click the "insert image" button: -paste your image url into the insert image tool. -then click the insert image button inside the tool... Its just that simple! if that makes any sense. best of luck...

What do you gain by flipping it? All the guys I run with said it was stupid to do it to a gm and I have done it a bunch of times with great results, I understand that mopar trunks are a different animal but just curious if anyone had ever tried it, This is after two runs on a 76 impala I flipped, it's still in great shape

I dont think it makes a big impact, but it does make a small difference. I would tuck the trunk and dish it down a little. Notch the frame where the lid is tucked. If your allowed, make sure to add extra clamps on the leaf springs and chain the rear end to the humps. Chain it down a few inches below factory height.

If your going to flat leaf, make sure the notch is very small. Tuck the trunk still, but dish the trunk lid down low. Run one 1/2" all thread from rear quarter panel to trunk floor and suck it tight if your allowed. Otherwise it sounds like you should have a good setup.

I got a 65 Imp, was thinking of dropping body to frame, then using 1/4 flat strap 3in wide as washers. But what i wanna do is go from rear body mount in trunk to body mount just below speaker deck across to other side then to rear body mount again. Basically a C shape that connects all body mounts and use big bolts to frame. Anybody try this, and what was the outcome? Would think it would hold the body more securely to frame that way? Or does anybody have a better way to hold the rear down to frame. Just a thought i was working on? Thanks

How would you prepare a shocker that's only rusty in pockets and can only put two wraps of chain on trunk and that's it
