I'd never notch a leaf spring car.

Would you notch or canoe it Depends alot more on rules and car condition. Have done both, liked how notching turned out. You will not get a straight answer from everyone though, some do it one way some do it the other.

I'd never notch a leaf spring car. I prefer them to roll and pack instead of flagging at the back window but to each their own

I have 75 Yorker for a stock show. Should I tuck the trunk or do something else? Been looking through the thread seen a lot but not stock. Can run 2 3/4 all thread and 6 bolts sheet metal to metal only. No body creasing or doing anything with the leaf springs

Okay guys, Getting the itch to start working on my 78 doba. I have been thinking about the trunk and reading the threads but I am in an interesting situation and looking for yays, nays, or advice.
Rules don't allow wire, althread or seam welding of the trunk. I don't believe that I can crease until after the opening ceremonies before the heats and only with hammers (not a lot of time). Here is my thought and where I need help. I was thinking about seam welding the trunk lid down while I'm building it. Canoeing it to my liking, then cutting the welds off, suck it down as much as I can with chains and hope she stays straight for a while.
Sounds out of the box to me but might be something worth trying?
Thank you

How about bolting small plates over the seem through the body on each side of the seem to stitch the trunk lid closed. often on 77+ gm cars angle irons are welded to the hood and fender and then bolted to each other. so the hood welded closed yet its open. this is usually done because there are no inner fenders but you may be able to get away with it at your show. you could simply drill/torch some holes and plate/bolt the seems together.... ?
