I can't say I've had a chance to get a close up look at the 58-60 square birds, but are the front suspensions the same as a Galaxie? If so, then the guys who are concerned about the front suspension could at least swap out the spindles for 70s model T Bird, Cougar, or Torino spindles. nothing like the galaxies, has coils over a arms

Got 2nd to a '73 Pontiac wagon last weekend. Want to run one more in 2 weeks(my daughter won a powder puff in it 3 weeks ago) but the front clip, unibody subframe whatever is seperating from the body tub underneath. The Ole Bird is '65 with a 318/904 slightly braced stock housing rear. Is it done or any great ideas...that will pass tech inspection? Where exactly is it seperating at? Right at the firewall or around the a arms? where the frame meets the firewall is like the "crushbox" of a regular frame, that is getting shoved through into driver/passenger foot areas and separating the floor from the trans tunnel and upper firewall as it moves back. Probably had a few more front end hits before the batteries and or my feet were in harms way... Thanks for asking, this one is done after more evaluation, but very interested in preventing or slowing that down in the future. Picking up a '64 this weekend.

It needs to be tight to the front of the frame/core support, but wouldn't have to be welded to it exactly. Limited shock weld doesn't sound good either. In my opinion these cars need long bumper brackets to make them hold in the front end. Message me a phone number and I'll take you some pictures.

So from what I'm understanding is that if u can't plate from a arms up.. These cars aren't worth running so running on unified stock rules is pointless??
